The sad thing is, I would actually WATCH THAT!For Creed V Adonis needs to fight the half human, half robot son of Paulie and Sico the robot from Rocky 4.
Speaking of Paulie, I never understood why his character was killed off when Burt Young is still alive. Same goes for Talia Shire with Adrian. I get that it makes a more dramatic story for Rocky but they really doubled down on the grief by killing off both of them.

Adrian not being around is really the driving force behind the entire Rocky Balboa story. Without her, Rocky is lost, lonely, angry, grieving and searching for some kind of meaning. And he finds it again in fighting;‘it’s both cathartic and also allows him to prove his self worth again. If she’d been alive they would likely have been living in blissful semi retirement or running their restaurant and the story would have lacked that great motivator for why a man of Rocky’s age still feels the need to step back in a ring.
As for Paulie, he was in all the Rocky movies but I guess when it came to Creed, they wanted to limit the involvement of Rocky - who was really just a supporting character at this stage. Bringing in Paulie and/or any other additional characters from the Rocky franchise risked taking this towards being Rocky 7 and not being about Creed. There’s only so much time and room on the screen.

All good points, I guess what I meant was I never understood why they happened off-screen, at least in the case of Adrian moreso than Paulie.Adrian's death made a lot of sense for Rocky Balboa. She never would have let him fight again at 60. And he probably wouldn't have wanted to as he mostly lived for her in the series.
Paulie for Creed was so Rocky was truly alone, and with his son living in Vancouver, only Adonis would have been a connection to his past.
This too lol
Yep. A number of people already figured Adonis opponent in this film could be an old friend or rival from his youth. The parallels of were each characters life went seems like some juicy drama.Knew that was the case.
This’ll definitely play on a life of privilege vs not.
Again, I can't remember the last time we've seen two black leading men in their primes share the screen together. That's exciting.
This, Mo Better Blues, and School Daze (kinda) were the only ones that immediately came to mind.![]()
Which is even more sad now.
