Well damn, this film did not disappoint. I don't know what it is about this franchise but it's the only series that makes me want to jump out of my seat and cheer during the film. Creed is a fantastic movie and a brilliant way to pass the torch for a new generation. A film that isn't quite a sequel to Rocky nor a spin-off, instead it's simply an evolution from one character to another within that world, and one that feels completely natural.

Adonis Creed I can see tapping into the hearts of this generation of film goers and all of that will be because of Michael B Jordan who plays him fantastically. As for Sylvester Stallone, I'd go so far to say it's the best performance of the series. He is so comfortable in that roll. Give this man an Oscar, he's earned it.

Make no mistake, there's nothing here we haven't seen before, but goddamn it, when the Rocky theme kicks in during the 12th Round of the fight you can't help but feel like punching the air. It's so well made and the perfect way to evolve the series. Looking forward to Creed II.

The cheese steak rap will become a cult hit.

The film has been growing on me the more I think about it and usually films go down in my estimation when I ponder them.

It takes a lot to get me invested in boxing movies, since they are formulaic by their very nature. The fact that I was so into what was going on in this movie speaks volumes for its quality.

This film was formulaic, but it was done in a refreshingly new way like that 2nd fight being shot in one long continuous take.

The turtle saw everything.

Everything. :o

It was REALLY good, and MBJ and Stallone were great. Heck they even managed to make the love interest more interesting/complex than just your standard movie love interest, so props for that as well. For a sequel, I'd really like it if Adonis visited an older Ivan Drago and had a conversation with him about Apollo's death. Maybe Drago now regrets it, having had decades to ponder it.

Agreed. Stallone actually said in an interview once about how Drago and he actually could have been friends if it weren't for the Russian government controlling everything he did.

Had me thinking of Drago modern day, in a wheelchair and ravaged by the effects of all the steroid use, all alone and forgotten by the world. And all these years, the only thing he has is the regret of having killed someone and having never had the things Rocky had, and thus regretting that in his older age.

I would love to see him show up and talk with Creed about his life, helping Creed let go of some of his anger and understand how things can be. Could be a great scene.

I wonder if this will spawn off into a franchise just like the original Rocky series did all those decades ago back in the 1970s? The Rocky franchise basically put Stallone on the map as far as being an actor goes so it begs the question of if Creed does the same for Michael B. Jordan's career?

Jordan is already on the map so to speak. This could solidify him, though.

I can't see them making more than 1 sequel out of this, especially if Coogler doesn't come back. It was really his vision that made this one so good.

I can see at least a trilogy, with maybe the third film being Stallone's send off.

The sequel opens with Adonis winning the championship. Soon after that, Rocky dies and at his funeral is a surprising mourner, a wheelchaired Ivan Drago.

Adonis and Drago have a heart to heart meanwhile Dragos estranged son (with his own anger issues) is working his way up the ranks and challenges Adonis.

Basically doing a "Rocky 3" angle with the sequel.

Epic 12th round with that music. Great movie. Totally down for a Rocky Cinematic Universe with Drago being next lol.

I liked the "remixed" version they used at the end of the main training montage. It's called "If I fight, you fight" on YouTube.

There is such a great flow and rhythm in CREED.It's in the acting and the direction. So much so i knew 20
minutes into the film i knew i was going to love it.Michael B. Jordan (proving once again all he needs is the right material to work with)
portrays Adonis Johnson in the film
A fighter even in his early years of life and a man who cant deny the legacy of his late father Apollo Creed,
and the boxing ring calling out to him.So he seeks out his father's former opponent and friend Rocky Balboa
(a beyond great and moving Sylvester Stallone).Reluctant to train Adonis at first but Balboa cant deny the spirit
Adonis has.
Adonis has the inner battle within himself.Trying to out run his father's shadow, and also trying to connect to it at the same time.
Fortunately he has Balboa in his corner and also a lovely singer named Bianca(funny that they named her that because
Tessa Thompson reminds of Bianca Lawson) warms his heart.
Creed goes for the heart several time and never misses and it it is a rousing and inspiring film,a film that almost didnt happen
but fortunately for audiences worldwide it did !!

Scale of 1-10 a 10

Great, great movie and a fitting and worthy member of the Rocky universe. I enjoyed it and was able to catch Rocky 1-IV before seeing it. Made it even better. Wasn't a fan of how they tossed Apollo under the bus, especially since Adonis was able to grow at least half his life under Apollo's fortune, but it worked well for the story.

Can't get enough of Rocky Balboa and his friends.

Can't stop listening to this.
