Anyone else catch the new episode last night? Some very interesting developments in the Rosa backstory I thought. I still continue to enjoy the new territory this show is doing, there's still some nods to the original, but they're doing their own thing and playing up the mystery.
I was reminded that Julie Plec of The Vampire Diaries fame is on board with this show, especially in the scene where Liz was verbalizing her theories on Max as she was driving over to his house. It instantly made me think of The Vampire Diaries season one where Elena was trying to come to terms with Stefan being a vampire and having to mentally prepare herself for when she finally told him she knew. It was still well done though and I like this version of Liz.
Speaking of Liz, I watched an interview with Shiri Appleby and it turns out that she's directing an episode of this series and gave her full approval so that was kind of neat. I'm curious as to what episode she is directing. She had never done it before and was excited to return to her roots. I thought that was really cool, I'd love to see more Roswell alum return to direct or make cameos.
I absolutely loved the scene with Max and Liz at the drive-in where he told her how much he was in love with her. I'm a softy, but it just brought me back to the original Max/Liz and how much I liked them. I'd say that Nathan and Jeanine definitely bring the chemistry and the heat between these two. It's nowhere near as amazing as Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby, but honestly they're about the standard I hold television couples to in terms of chemistry because they were just off the charts in every way when it came to that in my opinion. I always thought Michael and Maria had a sexual chemistry in the sense that I believed they were hot for one another, but when it came to romantic epic chemistry, Jason and Shiri just brought it, every look and touch between them was just electric.
I'm also kinda fanning out over the fact that when I go to Youtube, I'm seeing Max and Liz fanvids and it's just very nostalgic as I was always so into fanvids and even made some of my own. It's really a neat little thing to see this fandom reviving.
