I have a Belkin. It might be about 3-4 years old. I only really started using it last year. Now I'm having issues with wifi. The computer that the router is hooked to is fine and I have internet. Although occassionally I do have wifi yet no internet to my computer.

I'm wondering is this a router or modem or cable provider issue?

When it happens can you remove your router and plug directly your PC to your internet modem or the device you used before installing the router ?
Are they other computers linked to the router, does internet work on them ?

Who is your service provider?

I can probably just use my computer, it doesn't need to be unplugged from the router because it usually still works. But my laptop downstairs isn't connected.

First check how much bandwith you are getting directly connected and then wirelessly connected. If you are only getting 2-6mb wired then there is a possibility that there is too much intereference b/w your router and your wifi enabled pc and the limited bandwith is not enough.

My router shows when the wifi is going out and how many connections I have. When the wifi isn't working, it shows 0 and that the wifi isn't on.
