If Microsoft makes a monopoly out of video games the way they have PC OSes, I may quit gaming.
Anyway, given how much Microsoft has scaled back their first party efforts in recent years, I doubt they want to buy the 2nd largest third party publisher. They're moving more towards a business model of paying external developers for exclusives rather than developing in house, and if they bought EA that would be the total opposite. It's not going to happen.
