S-M3 is Going to be in 3-D

Honestly... BFD! When someone creates the technology without wearing the cheesy glasses, then I'll be excited.

The glasses in the IMAX experience aren't too bad. Not like those old red and blue ones. I wonder if they're going to make the entire movie 3d, or selected scenes like Superman Returns... Should be interesting, to say the least.

thats what i think should happen with swinging and fighting scenes

I want a movie to be so 3-D, when Spiderman gets hit, you get hit. Lots of dead people in the audience.

Don't know what it is Comic, but you NEVER fail to crack me up!:D :D :D

This 3-D cinema thing has apparently become an artform... boasting much better technology than most associate with '3D'.

Apparently Superman Returns has a selected 20 minutes of 3D that one reviewer said was the most thrilling sensory experience he'd had at the movies...

Singer apparently hatched a system for the 3D Supes screenings where green-and-red lights denote whether to put the glasses on or not... making it possible to watch the majority of the film without the glasses.

I'm all for new ways of incorporating technology into the movies... and the industry would be wise to back 3D, as well...
Because if there was something more to offer at the cineplex than in the standard living room (3D for example), then the theatres will begin to fill up again.

Thanks for the heads-up!

The last movie I heard was going to be filmed in 3-D was the new remake of Night of the Living Dead

That would be wicked cool... I mean, if they're going to keep remaking flicks... at least they could film them in 3D!

Yeah, just hand the audience a nice, big, rotted handful of intestines to go with their popcorn and Mr. Pibb!!!:)

lol Pagrebo, that made my night, thanks for sharing that.

my god! Spider-Man swinging around a 3D New York? this tooo much!

The entire Star Wars Saga is supposed to be back in the cinema soon, in full 3-D.

lol, milk that cash cow Lucas, milk it to the bone!!!

If anyone has been to the Spiderman ride in Islands of Adventure in Florida I think it might be like that but without the moving seats

wow.. so now I am going to definitely watch it twice :P

I'd heard rumors about this before. But I kinda forgot about it.

This is goin' to be the movie event of... a long time maybe.

However, I wonder if the whole film will be shot in 3-D or just certain scenes, like Superman Returns. I work at an IMAX theater and am really interested in seeing how people are going to take this, being the first attempt at this in IMAX.

If you didn't know, during the regularly 2-D feature, a green-glowing pair of glasses will come up on the bottom of the screen, 5 seconds before the 3-D portion begins and/ends. Only 20 minutes of the entire film will actually require you to put on your glasses.

My theater had enough trouble updating the technology to show full-length features in the first place and we're not equipped for a full-length 3-D film so...

IMAX is still an evolving technology but it does seem the like the wave of the future.. with the new HD/Blue ray Tech coming out... won't be long before we get full scope IMAX at home... problem is... IMAX was meant for the big screen, not the small one... then again that's what they said about 35mm movies when they first came out

this isnt that big of news...

the matrix and batman begins were in imax as well.. i didnt see the imax versions though

yes they were on IMAX but they weren't in 3D

there's a difference.

regular IMAX films are filmed on an impressive (I think) 72mm stock (very high quality picture) which makes for a huge image

3D IMAX has two seperate film stocks to create the 3D effect

*edit

I believe the 2 film stocks have specific color saturations (the whole red and blue effect)
