I loved spiderman 2, but three was massively disappointing

To be honest, I'll only be interesting in spiderman4 with a new director and cast (likely). The current team (maguire, raimi, dunst) have run their course, both thematically (the current three form a sort of coherent trilogy) and in terms of quality

But they knew who the villains were going to be for Spidey 3 WHEN THE FILM WAS IN PRODUCTION.

Spidey 4 doesn't have a director, a script, anything at all.

it's possible this is what the suits want, and I hope it doesn't come to that. the director/writers should be coming up with the story and who fits into that story (which is why Avi should have stayed the hell out of this movie, so Venom could have been the main guy in 4 instead of 5 minutes and then dead in 3). once the suits start dictating what characters must be in the movie, then this thing is going to go down the drain.

Nah. Looks like fanboys whining about Venom (oy, is that going to get annoying for--like ever knowing fanboys). They came up with the fanboy excuse for more symbiotic action and call for RAimi's firing (fanboys are a fickle bunch, aren't they?).

I want Lizard but I want a good story first, not villains thrown in for villains thrown in. And while I did like Spider-Man 3, I think it proved 3 villains is too many and even if you get it to work, it is still a fractured story that is spread too thin and can be told better with a narrower focus.
