Sam Raimi to reboot The Grudge

Yaaaay, a reboot of a movie that sucked the first time around.

Don't even remember that one. I know Sarah Michelle Gellar starred in it.

All you need to remember about it was that it was awful and so was Gellar (though that second point shouldn't be a surprise).

I remember often getting this confused with the Ring.

All y'all Asian horrors look alike.

If Raimi was directing, this reboot could probably be interesting at least. Without Raimi directing this will probably be as forgettable as the first American remake.

No one needs another sh***y reboot.

... But I'll push that aside if Raimi directs.

Has anyone even seen Pesce's debut? Figure that's the only reason anyone would care.

Sam Raimi to remake A Prophet.

Sam Raimi to remake/reboot the grudge.

Sam Raimi to remake Spiderman 3.

Sam Raimi to bring back Alison Lohman and do a sequel to Drag Me To Hell.

I'd actually be all for that last one. This time, she's back and she's the one who is cursing someone.

The first American Grudge was fine. The sequels got progressively dumber but whatever, it's not like the series was high art, it's goddamned J Horror about long haired ghost women and cat boys.

This one is set in present day with cell phones and fidget spinners.

This. I'm a massive Asian-horror fan and although I prefer the Japanese original I thought the US version was pretty good (I rewatched them both back-to-back last week). They've already basically rebooted in Japan with the White Ghost/Black Ghost movies. This'll be interesting.

Oh, she's lovely. Good actress . Don't know who the director is though. Anybody seen his work?

I liked the first Grudge movie. I found it genuinely creepy.

Yes. And same for this one.

I saw that for this one. I just thought it was strange he's producing a remake of his remake.

But then, he did remake the recaps for the Evil Dead sequels so maybe it's not that weird.

Yup to the second part. He's done it before with Evil Dead ;)

The first US one is pretty good. I saw it at the cinema when it first came out and loved it. It was the first J-horror I'd seen. 2 and 3 are pretty poor. Love the Japanese original movies too.
