Sarah Silverman to host MTV Awards 2007

well... I may actually watch the mtv awards this year

im trying to develop a spoof of the departed for their contest.

Great choice for MTV. I hardly ever watch this show when Chris Rock isn't doing it, but I will definitely be watching this year.

ugh! why her, shes so un****in funny. and you can tell when shes trying hard to be funny.

I love her tv show.

Honestly she's too good for the TRL crowd and Britney Spears fans.

My only beef is that I hate the general MTV audience.
When Napoleon Dynamite wins Best Movie of the Year, there is a serious problem. Stupid b!tches...

I heard about her and some of her lines are hilarious. If she's not constantly bleeped by censors, then they forced her to tone it down for the MTV crowd.

How many will spoof '300'? :oldrazz: :woot:

If I only had friends... :csad:

too many, and they'll fail unless they have the giant green screen like drexel has. it'll just look too ****ty and unfunny.

but i think i have a solid script, it pokes fun at alec baldwin and his profuse sweating*, the excessive cursing, and the number 23.

i unfortunately had to toss out nicholson, he just couldn't be done justice nor would it fit in the 5 minute timeframe.

i did manage to throw in hoffman from the spiderman movies.

Man Departed got gipped big time. I was expecting that one to up for Best Movie.

What's with the lack of categories? Last year there was 13, there's only 9 this year. And how did fairly recent flicks like 300 and Blades of Glory get nominated, a little too soon isn't it?

It sucks that they keep creating and removing catagories just to allow for extra time for their crappy segues. I miss Best Hero (seeing as how they've had a villain catagory since the show started), Best Action Sequence, Best On-Screen team, either best song or musical performance and dividing the performances between the genders so the wealth can be spread. I know they don't want to be taken seriously, but there's a fine line between being fun and being a joke. This year, they're dangerously close to crossing the line.

And best movie you haven't seen yet? Are they serious?

best movie you haven't seen yet:confused:
and no borat in best performance- MTV have gone too far this year. Its musicians turned actors all over and the only one that deserves it is will smith

Best Movie
» "300"
» "Blades of Glory"
» "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan"
» "Little Miss Sunshine"
» "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"

[Little Miss Sunshine or Borat seriously deserve the award. 300 was also a great movie, so I can deal with that. Why do I feel that Blades of Glory is going to win because it's the newest and because Jon Heder is in it? That'll be so damn stupid if that happens.]

Best Performance
» Gerard Butler, "300"
» Johnny Depp, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"
» Keira Knightley, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"
» Jennifer Hudson, "Dreamgirls"
» Beyoncé Knowles, "Dreamgirls"
» Will Smith, "The Pursuit of Happyness"

[Will Smith really blows everyone in that whole category out of the water. Too bad Beyonce or Jennifer Hudson is going to win it, which is very stupid but typical of the MTV crowd.]

Breakthrough Performance
» Emily Blunt, "The Devil Wears Prada"
» Abigail Breslin, "Little Miss Sunshine
» Lena Headey, "300"
» Columbus Short, "Stomp the Yard"
» Jaden Smith, "The Pursuit of Happyness"
» Justin Timberlake, "Alpha Dog"

[I'd love to see little Jaden win it (it'd make Will and Jada so happy), who are we kidding? JT is obviously going to win. ]

Best Comedic Performance
» Emily Blunt, "The Devil Wears Prada"
» Sacha Baron Cohen, "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan"
» Will Ferrell, "Blades of Glory"
» Adam Sandler, "Click"
» Ben Stiller, "Night at the Museum"

[Definitely Cohen. I'm being dead serious. If he doesn't win it, there is a huge problem with the MTV crowd.]

Best Kiss
» Cameron Diaz & Jude Law, "The Holiday"
» Will Ferrell & Sacha Baron Cohen, "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby"
» Columbus Short & Meagan Good, "Stomp The Yard"
» Mark Wahlberg & Elizabeth Banks, "Invincible"
» Marlon Wayans & Brittany Daniel, "Little Man"

[I couldn't care less...]

Best Villain
» Tobin Bell, "Saw III"
» Jack Nicholson, "The Departed"
» Bill Nighy, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"
» Rodrigo Santoro, "300"
» Meryl Streep, "The Devil Wears Prada"

[Definitely Jack Nicholson, but he ain't getting it. As long as Tobin Bell doesn't win it, I'm fine.]

Best Fight
» Jack Black & Héctor Jiménez vs. Los Duendes (Wrestling Match), "Nacho Libre"
» Gerard Butler vs. "The Uber Immortal" (The Spartan/Persian Battle), "300"
» Sacha Baron Cohen vs. Ken Davitian (Naked Wrestle Fight), "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan"
» Will Ferrell vs. Jon Heder (Ice Rink Fight), "Blades of Glory"
» Uma Thurman vs. Anna Faris (Super Girl Fight), "My Super Ex-Girlfriend"

[Terrible selections, in general. X3 anyone?
I couldn't care less, but the 300 or Borat nominations should win, I guess.]

Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet
» "Evan Almighty" (June 22)
» "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" (June 15)
» "Hairspray" (July 20)
» "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" (July 13)
» "Rush Hour 3" (August 10)
» "Transformers" (July 4)

[?

All I know is that I'll probably vote for either Transformers or Rush Hour 3.]

mtvU Best Filmmaker On Campus
» Robert Dastoli, "Southwestern Orange County vs. The Flying Saucers"(University of Central Florida)
» Maria Gigante, "Girls Room" (Columbia College, Chicago)
» Josh Greenbaum, "Border Patrol" (University of Southern California)
» Alexander Poe, "Please Forget I Exist" (Columbia University)
» Andrew Shipsides, "Bottleneck" (Savannah College of Art & Design)

There's billboards around the city advertising her hosting duties with the phone number, "for a good time, call 1-877-sarah-07." Try it. It's hilarious.
