Well, I used Batman because it was his most notorious trashing of an iconic series. And I figured since a lot of people here are bashing Michael Bey, I'd compare him to Scumacher. Thanks for your vote!

Well, Schumacher would be bad given his record with high budget action films, but I personally think Michael Bay's not much of an improvement.

Shumaker has a very bad rep for a non-sense reason. The reason Tim Burtun left Batman Forever in the first place was because of creative differences with the WB...the were demanding a big colorful spectacle that would increase the kid appeal, and sell more toys...lets face it, toy sales were hot at the time and brought in a LOT of revenue, when they knew the B.O. would be weak. They hired him and told him they wanted a silly, colorful comic book film for the kiddies. He didn't write it, he merely went along with their instructions.

And I think Pearl harbour was based on source material aswell, with it being based on a true story n'all (emphasise on 'based').

Sorry for the confusion guys. I just really hated what happened with those two Batman flicks. But I have loved every Michael Bey film I've seen. So when saw how a lot of folks were ripping on Bey, I decided to see if folks thought, "Well, it could be worse!" Oh, well. Sorry for the bum thread guys.

Beside, why would Schumacher would even be considered. It's not like he's a big action director you would think might be directing a Transformer movie.

So Scumacher makes 2 bad batman films(which WB has alot more to do with than Scumacher) suddenly he's a ****ty director. Such an AICN mindset. Nevermind all the rest of his excellent movies he has made.

Not completely. His original BF was much darker and more psychological(what he does) then the forced rewrite happened. Then any scenes that were were left over WB edited out of the movie. Scumacher wanted to make a Year One film after B&R. Which put the idea in WB's heads to do a restart origin film that brought Batman back to his roots.

WB has a way of screwing over their comic licenses. Like the long ago rumors of the Green Lantern being a slapstick comedy starring Jack Black. Now, I am a Jack Black fan - don't get me wrong. But he's no Green Lantern. It always seems like WB is really out of touch with the whole thing - even smallville has jumped the shark a few seasons ago.

Ah well - in a few years all the current CEOs and Managers will die and my generation will get into the seats of power.
