While a new "Terminator" film is being shopped in Hollywood with Arnold Schwarzenegger attach to star and Justin Lin (Fast Five) directing, Vulture is reporting that the former California governor has picked his next film - a project titled Cry Macho.

The movie, based on the 1975 novel by the late N. Richard Nash ("The Rainmaker"), would be directed by Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) and produced by Al Ruddy (Million Dollar Baby, The Godfather).

The site describes the project as follows:

"He will play a damaged-goods horse trainer who's just been ignominiously put out to pasture by his feckless boss. In exchange for some retirement money, the broken — and broke — horseman agrees to kidnap the boss's 11-year-old son from his rich Mexican ex-wife. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when the ex-wife is all too glad to be rid of her juvenile delinquent.

Filming is targeted for this summer after the producers seek financing at Cannes.

This actually sounds like a pretty great project for Arnie.

I would've preferred The Last Stand. But I'm glad he's doing something non Terminator.

Very very interesting role it could be!

I'll keep my eyes out because of this latest development.

This sounds like a good role for him.

I just can't get Arnold wearing a straw hat out of my head though.

Is he gonna get all bulked up like Stallone on roids?
