Well, that's what happens when you let Sam Jackson speak like Sam Jackson. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm pretty certain the language alone was enough to put it at R.

That's crazy... I thought it was a stretch at a 15 here!

If you have two F-bombs you get an R. If you have bloody decapitations, graphic impalements, exploding heads, slicing off limbs of non cgi characters with gore etc you get an R. The MPAA is a bit more open to violence or light gore with heavy sci fi/fantasy characters, like DOFP and LOTR.

Much like Kick-Ass there was no way Kingsman was getting anything below an R in the States unless they chopped the movie down to 10 minutes. It's action was pushing the violence to ridiculous levels with human characters and it's dialogue was uncensored. Fox and the MPAA would have been in a mess if they rated that PG-13, cause essentially nothing would stop a 10 year old from getting a ticket and parents would rage.

Just saw Kingsman (UK) and while the trailers did make it look like a 12A I thought it was quite a firm 15. There was quite a heavy amount of swearing in it, a fair amount of F-Bombs tbf. Fox even had to cut the violence down to a 15 because it initially got an 18 from the BBFC

You guys must have had the F-bombs cut down cause there were a ton in the US release. Didn't know the violence was cut down in the UK. I gather the 15 and 18 rating makes a big difference in box office then.

Edit: Just looked it up and there are 111 F-bombs in Kingsman

Sites are reporting that Collosus is back... The continuity hurts

The writer behind DOFP and Apocalypse has said that Mystique's actions at the ends of the movie for all intents and purposes rebooted history, and that now certain characters' birth dates and time periods have shifted.

People suspect that he was hinting at Archangel but the same could easily apply to Colossus if they want to give him a new actor and set this in the present instead of the 80's.

Colossus is at the Mansion in DOFP though played by the same actor. That really doesn't mash well if they change his dob. It's confirmed that he and the other X-Men seen there were pretty much the same as far as age. Colossus can show anywhere near the present and it shouldn't be an issue or really that confusing. Same with Rogue, Iceman or Kitty.

With Angel he wasn't there, so that works a bit better with what Kinberg was talking about. As of now he is not in the present/future X-Men. Likewise with anyone who was not seen at the end of DOFP at the Mansion.

FYI, TJ Miller and Ed Skrein are playing "Simon" and "Ridge" in DEADPOOL, whoever those characters may actually be...

So pretty much Weasel and Ajax.

Kind of odd that Angel Dust is the only character name they announced right? And that they now have a third character in the X-Universe named Angel.

I like how the casting call aligns pretty spot on with the leaked script. Angel Dust and whoever "Kathy" ends up being are the only exceptions. I figure Angel Dust will replace Sluggo as the evil bruiser to go up against Colossus. It makes sense given Carano's history and will add a bit of diversity to a cast overrun with muscled dudes.

I'm really excited for this flick and cannot wait for it to hit. Budget or not, this is gonna rock.

With "Kathy" my guess is that she is Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

My guess is that Kathy is Meltdown. Copycat is almost certain to be the female lead.

Slightly concerned that I don't remember it being quite that sweary

Whatever, I feel like Deadpool could be at a similar level to Kingsman to get a 15, but an 18 cut on Blu

I think Deadpool would be better being similar to Kingsman, and I've always supported PG-13 before seeing Kingsman.

As Dasher said Kathy does sound like Meltdown (I usually call her Boom-Boom). She would be very good choice imo and the fact for her it reads series option rather than sequel option suggests she is more likely to appear in X-Men sequels, maybe X-Factor/X-Force if they go with it

If it were Domino as opposed to Vanessa I think they would've said three series options rather than sequel, if that matters for anything

Interesting Rob Liefeld said the original leaked script has been changed so much it should be 'thrown away' yet it seems like they're keeping Colossus, Vanessa and Ajax. Wonder if he means there's one big change or just a lot of small ones.

Albert... Dare I mention Cable? Probably a supporting villain though

Don't think anyone would lie about adding that character, when they just said the rest of the cast as well in the same interview. Like with Angel Dust they probably want some characters they can take license with that won't piss off fans.

True. Turns out she has her own wikipedia page, she's a student of Emma Frost and she is a telepath, they'll probably change her power-set and make it a whole new character imo

If I remember right she was more of a psychic premonition type, but maybe she was a full on telepath. I'll have to look that up. Think all she did was predict the fall of Genosha, then die. Later in X-Force vol 3 she came back for a bit during the whole Selene and Necrosha thing.

I can see alot of jokes here with a clairvoyant teen goth girl and Deadpool. They must have saw the name and laughed. Only a Deadpool movie would think to use her haha.

I'd def want to see Boom Boom but if they are using Negasonic then they must have something specific in mind. Would assume for comedy reasons. Very random and non relevant character.

I'd prefer Boom-Boom with her quirkiness and even though the gothic type would provide more comedy I think Deadpool could play on the blonde stereotype very well. I think if they did go with Boom-Boom people would probably be in uproar if anyone but Chloe Moretz was casted.

Lot of good young actresses out there. Ashley Benson has been my choice for Boom Boom since I saw Spring Breakers. I like Chloe though.

If they want a dreary sarcastic character then I don't think Boom Boom is the right choice here. Deadpool comes with alot of death and morbid comedic stuff so that's my guess on why Negasonic would fit somehow. Both would be for completely different roles.

Unless Boom Boom is alongside Colossus representing the X-Men, probably best to stay away from other main X-Force members. Too much going on. Heck, I'd prefer Domino and Cable to Colossus personally. Makes more sense for Wade as a character to develop with them, but I can see why they went that route since Colossus represents the X-men more then Neena and Nate. He's also pretty much the complete opposite to Wade's personality in every way morally.

They have had so much time to figure the script that I have trust in them. Eventually we will get to the X-Force and Cable Deadpool crew.

There are 4 villains in the script so she might not have been on that casting. Probably Garrison Kayne, Sluggo or Wyre. Either Sluggo or Wyre got the cut.

I hope they change Blind Al's role and relationship with Wade for this movie. Going the route it went in the comics and having her be his prisoner/slave/housekeeper would be...very problematic.

I wouldn't say anybody in that casting call description seemed to be like Colossus but maybe Keren, but that was suspected to be a supporting villain, so I suspect you may be right

Sucks about Cudmore. Never really got the chance to shine. Then again if Colossus is in it and has a bigger role then a more capable actor would be better.

Why would it be problematic? If done right and they show her as having affection and friendship with him and he isn't borrible to her then it would be fine
