Not that it's a bad score or anything, but the march is easily the best thing about the CA:TFA score.

The Punisher definitely had the best score in my opinion. The next best ones were The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and GR: Spirit of Vengeance. I thought Avengers, the X-mens were rather generic.

Never quite understood the praise for Armstrong's TIH score. Besides the love theme/Betty theme it wasn't anything special. And it felt a little too MV/RC for my taste.

You know, I was reading through this thread again...what's with people constantly highlighting the word score in red? Lol.

Not rating the movies, but here were the only scores I half-remember in descending order:

Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2
Hulk
X-Men: First Class
X-Men

The others all seem pretty generic.

My Favorite of the Scores :

Hulk
Iron Man
Spider-Man 3
Thor
Avengers
Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2
The Amazing Spider-Man
Daredevil
X-Men: First Class
X-Men : Origins
X-Men
X-Men 2
Ghost Rider
Fantastic Four

For me it's
1. X men: firs class
2. The amazing spiderman
3. The avengers
4. Thor
5. The punisher

The only 2 Marvel scores so far that I really love are TASM and XM:FC, but if I had to pick a top 5, it would probably be:

1. The Amazing Spider-Man
2. X-Men: First Class
3. X-Men
4. Spider-Man
5. The Avengers

With honorable mentions to Danny Elfman's Hulk and the Captain America and Thor scores. Those are all nice and enjoyable.

1. Iron Man
2. X-Men: First Class
3. Captain America: The First Avenger
4. The Incredible Hulk
5. Thor

1.X-Men First Class
2.Avengers.
3.Iron Man
4.X Men 3
5.Amazing Spider-Man

Thought I'd bump this thread. Since 2013 is nearly over I wonder how any of you rank the Marvel scores released this year? We've had Brian Tyler's Iron Man 3 and Thor:The Dark World, and Marco Beltrami's The Wolverine. Are those up there with the best, worst, or somewhere in between those?

I loved IM3/TW's score, they're among my favorites. TDW was pretty good but a step down from IM3.

I wouldn't put any of them in the "best" column, but I did really like IM3 and The Wolverine's scores.

Since we're approaching the end of 2014. And pretty much every 2014 Marvel related movie has been released in the states (and in Big Hero 6's case only in some countries) How would you rank Henry Jackman's Captain America:The Winter Soldier and Big Hero 6, Hans Zimmer and the Magnificent Six's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, John Ottman's X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and Tyler Bates' Guardians Of The Galaxy? Are those up there with the best, worse, or in between?

Spider-Man or Spider-Man 2
The first couple X-Men movies had awesome scores

Blade's is so late 90s i love it

Of the five Marvel movies released this year. I only purchased TAS-M2 soundtrack. I’ve only had one full viewing of each film as well. So based off the film (and iTunes samples) Jackman’s CA:TWS didn’t leave much of an impression on me. Plus I wasn’t paying much attention to the score, but the actual film itself. I found some samples from the iTunes decent at best. I doubt it’ll surpass Silvestri’s original. Jackman’s serviceable and wall to wall score to Big Hero 6 didn’t leave much of an impression on me either in the film.

I was somewhat under whelmed by Ottman’s X-MDOFP score b/c it had very little impact on me and on the movie itself unlike X2. Plus the Xavier/Hope theme took me out of moments in the film b/c it reminded me too much of Zimmer’s “Time” from Inception. However hearing the X2 main theme again was like the return of an old friend. I expected this to be the superior score of the five, unfortunately it wasn’t. I guess I expected more from Ottman with this genre after delivering stellar scores to Singer’s X2 and SR.

Even though the soundtrack easily outshines the score to GOTG Bates still did a somewhat decent and adequate job, which is saying a lot b/c I‘m not a Bates fan. The catchy Silvestri-esque main theme for the GOTG was fitting , which surprisingly resonated with me after the film ended. Don’t remember much else about the score though.

Zimmer & the Magnificent Six’s TAS-M2 is easily the superior Marvel score this year, which is saying a lot coming from me b/c I’m usually picky about Zimmer’s approach with this particular genre. I dug his Spidey theme, which was not only catchy and triumphant, but it also represented Peter‘s joy of being Spidey. His Peter/Gwen theme, which resonates with me emotionally, is heart breaking for obvious reasons. The Harry/Goblin was chilling. I found Electro’s theme to be unique but effective for a villain theme. “My Enemy” is a highlight as well. The dubstep didn’t bother or annoy me either. I thought it was used properly in the score. I found plenty of things to enjoy about this score. And Zimmer’s style seemed to click more with Spidey than it did with Batman and Supes, imo.

They all had good scores for the films they were in, but TASM 2 had the best one I think. It was just so inventive and unique, shame it wasn't in a better movie (this coming from somebody who didn't hate it). Guardians had a nice main hero theme, and the music playing when Groot was sending out the glowing spores was beautiful, the real star was the soundtrack. I don't remember much from X-Men DOFP aside from the X2 theme coming back (which I liked). The highlight of Cap 2's score was the Winter Soldier theme, that sh** was haunting, it really built an aura of menace around an already fantastically intimidating villain. I don't remember much from Big Hero 6's.

I haven't seen/heard Big Hero 6, but as for the others, I found them all to be "pleasantly serviceable." None of them were particularly good, but they worked well enough for their films and were mostly enjoyable listens on their own. If I were to rank them:

1.) TASM2
2.) Guardians of the Galaxy
3.) Cap 2
4.) X-Men: Days of Future Past

The DoFP score was ok, but it's the only one of the bunch that I haven't purchased. Just didn't have any real standout moments, imo.

Probably one of my favorite moments in any recent Marvel movie is when Drax throws Rocket a gun when they are in the prison, and the music comes to a crescendo right when Rocket grabs it and he goes, "Oh.....yeah".
Tyler Bates did a great job on that one.

Elfmans Spidey score is amazing.

Of the MCU nothing touches this

X2, Spider-Man 2 and Hulk are the only memorable score from Marvel movies for me
