Pretty decent flick I felt. Overall, it was fun, with a very memorable opening. The Ghostface mask is a bit too Iconic these days to be considered scary, but during it's initial introduction, it was genuinely frightening.
I loved the Scream flicks as well. Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers are the only recent horror movie heroines memorable enough to go down with the greats of the likes of Laurie Strode, Nancy Thompson, etc, etc.
I really enjoyed Scream. The only bit that I find scary is the opening scene with Drew Barrymoore, but after that it made IMO the classic mistake of being too funny.
