Another rating, but this time with a description.
The Entertainment Software Rating Board has rated Scribblenauts Showdown for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch following its initial rating in Taiwan in early December.
Here is the description of the game provided by the rating board:This is a party/puzzle-platformer game in which players engage in a variety of tasks and mini-games using a selection of words/actions/modifiers/characters. Mini-games include fishing, racing, and using drones to deliver items. Players can type in random nouns and adjectives to create different word combinations that trigger comical scenarios. Some games/tasks prompt players to use cartoony weapons (e.g., bazookas, bombs, swords) to deplete the health meters of other characters. Characters can also eat/bite other characters when prompted by a modifying word/trait. A handful of areas contain enemy characters (i.e., skeleton warriors) that will attack players if approached. During an eating-contest mini-game, players character may vomit if they consume too much food without swallowing; a comical gagging sound effect is heard, as well as brightly-colored green vomit.Update 9:15 a.m.: Warner Bros. has officially announced Scribblenauts Showdown for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. Face off in fast-paced multiplayer modes.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Shiver Entertainment have announced Scribblenauts Showdown, a new entry in the Scribblenauts series that expands upon the puzzle-acton series by introducing two new party game modes for up to four players. It will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on March 6 in North America and March 9 in Europe.
Here is an overview of the game, via Warner Bros:
In the games Showdown mode, up to four players face off and imagine their way to victory through card-based strategy and creative skill. Wordy mini-games require unleashing the best object or character from the vast Scribblenauts dictionary of over thirty thousand words to outsmart an opponent. Action-oriented Speedy mini-games reward the player who completes a given challenge first. A board game style map displays players progress. With multiple ways to make up ground, every player has a chance to win, which keeps the excitement going until the end!Watch the teaser trailer below.
In Versus mode, two players can go head-to-head in more than 25 mini-games that vary in every session. The mini-games can also be enjoyed by a single player. Versus mode allows continuous play of games by shuffling players into game after game for non-stop fun.
Sandbox mode, the Scribblenauts series cherished creative playground, allows one or two players to solve objectives in eight new levels by summoning any object they can imagine and earn hidden Starites and achievements. Players can also let their imaginations run wild by unleashing whatever objects they can think of and watching them interact in unexpected ways.
Adding to the family fun, players can either choose, or design, their own original Scribblenaut to represent them throughout the game, all drawn in the classic Scribblenauts art style. The Scribblenaut can be further customised with unique clothing and quirky accessories by earning Starites and completing achievements.
