EPISODE 3: "Kandahar"

I never heard those complaints about War Zone and never watched that movie, but I think it works well for the story they're telling here that even with all the bad guys Frank's killed, [blackout]his hands aren't totally clean either.[/blackout] With all the guilt and trauma he's dealing with, it just feels more realistic to me.3 episodes in and i do like it but damn some of the critics weren't lying when they said these first few episodes were slow...The end of this episode was solid though... BUT, what do you guys think aboutFrank being the one that actually gunned down Zubair? One of the complaints people had about Punisher WarZone was that Frank killed an innocent, granted this was Frank during his military days but still...I was kinda hoping it woulda been someone else that pulled the trigger.
That didn't bother me so much as the slow pacing and all the extraneous characters like Walcott.3 episodes in and i do like it but damn some of the critics weren't lying when they said these first few episodes were slow...The end of this episode was solid though... The most offensive thing in this episode was that terrible orange juice product placement. Omfg

I LOVED that [BLACKOUT]Frank was revealed to have pulled the trigger,
and has guilt associated with the loss of his family that he traces to his own actions[/BLACKOUT]. I really feel this is a very real and fleshed out Punisher. Castle is more interesting as a full fledged human being.
I don't get the complaints about pacing so far. The episodes allow for depth all around. I think some just want to see Frank killing and killing and while I want violent retribution, it is the Punisher after all, I think the character stuff and the tension that comes with it is great, and makes the violence stand out more.
I don't think the complaints are directed at Frank's character, because I do enjoy the down time scenes he has with Micro and the kids. It's the other characters that quite frankly, I don't give a damn about, that is taking up screen time, and wasting my time because they do bore the hell out of me. I just don't care for the Madani character or actress, or the expositions with Billy, or the politics. I also didn't like how a scene starts to get good, then all of a sudden it stops and we are having flashbacks (I'm not talking about his family flashbacks either, I'm talking about the bomb scene, then it cuts to Karen's POV, then the same bomb scene again, and this time it's Madani's POV, then Louis POV, it was getting repetitive)
I get the complaints so far.
It's slow, but that doesn't bother me.
Madani is just the ****ing worst. Terrible acting, boring plot line.
Not sure how I feel about [blackout] the changes to Russo. [spoilered because apparently not everybody knows who he is in the comics]. Comic book shows and movies have a terrible habit of making connections between heroes and villains that weren't there in the comics, and I'm in general against that practice. [/blackout]
Plus, Frank has not punched a polar bear in the face yet, and I'm really disappointed by that.

The Madani stuff is like... It's THE plot of the show. And as for the actress... I don't get this hate at all. Is she Streep? No. Who is? But she's fine enough. And she sounds like what she is supposed to be, an Iranian-American born from a family that fled Iran in the 1970's.

Yeah, I don't get the Madani hate, either, tbh. She's not my fave, but her plot feels pretty important in the show to me, and I think the actress does fine in the role. *shrug*
