Daredevil Season 2, Episode 10 "The Man in the Box" (USE SPOILER TAGS!)

I feel like they've done a very good job of blending two very different stories together. The beginning and end are very creepy. The Hand are mysterious and scary. On the other side of things, there's Frank Castle and Karen and all that stuff. Tying everything together is Matt's increasing isolation. He's placing the weight of the world on his shoulders and it's just putting everything in more danger. His confrontation with Fisk was intense. At first, you think he has the upper hand, but it's clear he doesn't. Finally, as I said, the ending was intriguing. I have to know what happens next.

Four and a Half Stars.

I think Marvel took a big risk in introducing The Hand. It could very easily become cheesy. But they nailed it. Very scary cult.

I agree with that. I always criticize the Daredevil comic because they're willing to go supernatural but only as far as magic ninjas. But for the TV show that is very much a crime drama, the Hand had to be pulled off well and I think they nailed it.

The prison scene between Murdock and Wilson Fisk is what makes this series gold!

I'm just happy we got Stick and the Chaste. It never sat well with me that he was written out of the movie. Mark Steven Johnson said they didn't want a Mr. Miyagi character.

I thought the French guy was the guy with Moon Knight. I was like yes!! He's coming to Netflix! Didn't Moon Knight have an assistant named Jacques Champ or Dechamp?

The Moon Knight character is actually "Jean-Paul Duchamp," but the names are similar.

That prison scene between Matt and Kingpin was next level stuff, Fisk is the best character on this show, and he once again proved it here.

That Matt/Kingpin confrontation. :wow:
As I watched it all hit the fan, I didn't notice my mouth being agape in astonishing of how damn good it was until several minutes in.

The performance of this damn Vincent D'Onofrio... Jeebus. :more:

I think that it's VERY likely that we'll see [BLACKOUT]Moon Knight [/BLACKOUT]in the MCU in the near future.

I was just "Matt, what are you doing?!" as soon as he went to see Fisk and then said Vanessa's name.

Creepy, creepy ending with those kids, of course.

Anyone else have a feeling Fisk may be thinking there's something more to Matt after he requested for the file on him?

Great episode. Matt has ****ed up by what he did. The confrontation Between Matt and Fisk was intense.

Can someone explain to me Born again?

Again, I'm almost positive that was his brother. I really, really, really want to see Moon Knight.

The moment Fisk began grunting I knew Matt was in BIG trouble. And yes, that fact that this blind lawyer in a suit and walking stick was able to give him a swollen bloody lip and tried to defend himself instead of cowering peaked Wilson's curiosity.

I'm also enjoying the Karen/Punisher arc. The whole thing with Elektra and the Chaste is the least interesting to me. But I'm not a reader of the comics so please forgive me.

Meanwhile, (I haven't seen the last 3 episodes yet) it looks like Matt has got his work cut out for him---protecting Foggy, protecting Karen, and keeping the Hand from gaining control.

So much for the law practice.

It was foolish of Matt to provoke him the way he did, and at the same time, he couldn't defend himself, otherwise he'd have slapped the **** outta Fisk, there was one moment where he hit back a little but then he just stopped.

Careful Matt.

I'm surprised to see how involved Fisk is in this season. Just thought he would show up for a cameo but I suppose it is necessary to show how things have changed from last season.

Does anyone get vibes that they're going to do
Born Again?

I really wanted matt to give it to fisk, full on dd style.. hate to see him bullied by fisk

Fisk completely destroyed Matt. I mean, that was kinda sad yet funny how much he just slammed Matts head onto the table. Me and my friend were laughing imagining if he just did it for the rest of the episode then they cut off and continued with him still slamming on the next episode. :funny:

Born Again is probably the best Daredevil story ever told,
in which Fisk learns that Murdock is Daredevil. Fisk then proceeds to destroy Murdock's life, and Murdock truly hits rock bottom. But, then he gets right back up again.
If you have a chance, you should read it. Sooo good.:ilv:

Heh, not just a feeling. That's clearly what that scene was about.

Dat Murdock/Fisk scene... :mrk:

D'Onofrio was truly amazing! The whole scene was so tense that I was on my toes all the time. I love how it all started with Matt being so ballsy, and then it all flipping around the other way...

The moment Wilson realized there's more to Matt Murdock than a law degree and being the son of a boxer.

These episodes are getting better and better.
