So I was lucky enough to have the Sector 7 black ops truck show up at my local theater this weekend. They previewed almost all of the Scorponok confrontation uncut. I'd say it lasted at least 6 minutes. The action is practically flawless, but I would expect nothing less from Bay. The two things I found distracting was Lennox trying to phone the military on a cell phone which had an Indian operator trying to get him to buy extra services (I think that was in the script, it should have been taken out) and it seemed like a big advertisement for "cool" military equipment. I mean, they called in everything from fancy jets to a big bomber to kill this thing, which only seems to be a little bigger than a horse.

As much as I hate what's been done to this franchise, if that 6 minutes of action is a good comparison to the other 120 minutes, we're in for a ride that I don't think anyone can prepare for.

Almost forgot, they had a life-size maquette of Frenzy locked up behind a cage in the back of the trailer.

Any chance of finding out where that truck is going? I'd drive to one of the locations if need be- if it's going to be somewhere within distance.

I didn't even find out until the day of. It showed up in our local newspaper's online entertainment section. I looked online for some tour schedule but I didn't find anything.

I just saw the part about the Indian Operator, and I thought it was pretty funny. It reminds me of what I go through everytime I try and call a Tech Support line, or something of that nature. I havent seen the rest of the footage around that though. But I am sure it will work just fine.

That credit card thing was soooooo freakin stupid and the reason I hate Michael Bay movies. Why you would want to take the audience OUT of the mayhem and terror for pure laughs is so annoying and plants the movie squarely in the "popcorn schlock" category. A single scene like that can ruin an ENTIRE movie for me.

That's because you're just a troll. I wish the mods would grow some balls and kick you out of here.

Honestly, I'm out of this forum. I can't deal with your stupidity. Even before the movie was even cast, you were bashing it. Even before a single picture was shown you were bashing it.

I just can't handle your over the top negativity and if anybody's got brains on this forum they will just follow me. Let's all go on a board where people like CFlash and their trolling aren't welcome.

Good job sucking the fun of the movie for everyone, you ass.

Oh puleez. I havent even posted in 3 days. Posted something positive in the "Making of" thread and just call it like I generally see it. Not everyone needs to agree with you.... and when people post positive stuff I don't call them out like they're a**hole like you do.

People are entitled to their opinion. Grow up.

they need to keep it pg-13.... it lets them get away with alot more terror if they add some light hearted moments in between.

besides it not gonna be overly jokeful......COUGH*FANTASTIC FOUR1&2*COUGH!

Yeah, I can see that. I hope you're right.

Spielberg tends to like to do that as well though.

Damn, I wish I had a link to that applause picture.

:ninja:

Well I'm reminded of star ship troopers somewhat with a bit of yes, forrest gump. josh kinda gives me a hanks vibe.

I mean, it is a family film so Spielberg will make sure to include light-hearted moments.

I will reserve judgement on the scene until I see the full movie. I was distracted by it, and I don't like it.

And he does it well. I almost sh** in my pants a cpl times in Jurassic Park and chewed my nails off. even though that movie had funny stuff too. But movies like Armageddon have never done anything for me but make me laugh. Even Pearl Harbor... which should have been a wrenching and serious tragedy... just had me oohing and aahhhing at the planes and nothing else. That's all I'm trying to say.

If this movie can strike a Spielberg-esque balance... that'd be great. Based on past work, and these "funny" clips (and they are funny) I'm not really sure that will be the case.

Well i can feel the Beards influence in these clips that we are seeing,to me the clip in question with the credit card felt very much like the type he would use......maybe I'm wrong but we'll see when we see the full sequence play out,it might come as a nice little relief moment...kinda reminds me of the sequence described for the new indy film

But did you see the whole scene? That part by itself may be funny, but the fact that it comes after a base attack and a few more confrontations with Scorponok makes it out of place. And it's followed by even more mayhem. All he needed to do was be put on hold and it wouldn't have been too ridiculous.

There are only a few more locations that the Sector 7 Mobile Command Center will be at now, but here's the list I'd gotten a few weeks ago... Good luck to those of you who can attend!
