Theater Encourages Commenting During Movie

I love the concept. But lose the cellphone part.
I'd love to be able to go to a movie where heckling is encouraged. Especially of the theater is savvy enough to play movies that deserve it. (Dragonball: Evoloution, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-li, Dragon Wars, Resident Evil, etc)
But the cellphone thing is stupid and will not work, especially with the delays.
And if you don't want to go the a movie where people will sit there and heckle it, go to a different theatre.:)

I would totally blurt out the ending to every film I saw. Or the most spoileriffic event during the opening credits of the movie. :D

Vader is Luke's father.....4 rl!!

This is stupid. 90% of people aren't funny and their comments are stupid.

I will set this theater on fire with the people in it.

Theater Encourages Commenting During Movie
..then that theater should also encourage executions during a movie

Can you imagine going to see a Pixar film in that kind of environment? Kids and adults alike. . . not being able to tell the difference between either group's unfunny, inane comments.:(

:huh:Maybe Hollywood should just bring back silent films so people can yell and text at them.

That's the only way I'd ever watch those movies. :funny:

And I think this is a good idea. Get the texters their own theater and they'll leave the rest of us in peace. :word:

I can only imagine how bad this would be for a superhero flick with a bunch of fanboys in the theatre.

It's the people with ideas like these that keep getting elected to seats in the White House.

'Where's teh webshooterz?'

'Blue peniz'

It would be like that Dark Knight online commentary with Nolan a few months back e.g.

'This is a two-pee movie'

This is a bad Idea. I can see it now...

"ZOMG did you see those ( Y )s they were AWESOME!"

:o

See what Mystery Science Theater 3000 has started!? :oldrazz: Course I imagine Joel/Mike and the bots are 1000 X funnier than what Bob with a cell phone would come up with.

Yeah, people tend to forget that MST3K was not ad-libbed. They actually sat through the movies several times to come up with the jokes, and they were professional comedians and comedy writers.

On a related note, Joel Hodgson's Cinematic Titantic live show will be in Atlanta next month.

Anybody up for a SHH special Rifftrax??
The members choose the movie... the members write the jokes....

That doesn't sound appealing at all. A bad comic book movie would just get chosen, and half of the "jokes" would really be rants about straying from the source material or how overrated either an actor or the director is.

I actually think the theater has a hilarious idea. Best done with bad movies.
Maybe even some good ones but only action/comic book movies....
look at it this way... the best movie experience is when everybody agrees to stay quit and enjoy the movie and keep the comments to themselves.

But what if a unanimous decision is made to purposefully make fun of a movie and everybody joins in. Isn't the effect the same? You can have fun right?
This is something me and 5 of my friends did with a screening of TMNT... we were the only ones in the theater and so we loudly shouted out comments and laughed our asses off....

Surprisingly we still enjoyed the movie and actually were able to have a proper discussion about it later on...

The ONLY way this works for recent movies is if they have certain showings like they do for 3D ones, where alternate showings are regular and others are for RealD.

I wonder if the minute delay is going to be used to censor the messages put up on the screen?

who was the tool that thought " hey, i know what would make the movie-going experience better, the click clickety click of everyone's cell phone and scrolling txt drivel across the screen. and while we're at it we could raise the prices on concessions."

then there is the as*hole who heard the first guys pitch and was like " GREAT IDEA!!!"
and their both probably getting paid for this ****.
