Lestat74 spotted this article where Hollywood Reporter caught up with Bryan Singer asking about a potential sequel to SR.Thought this bit should get mentioned here.

While some "Superman Returns" viewers objected to the addition of an illegitimate child of Lois Lane and Superman (which never appeared in any of the comic books), Singer intends to proceed with that story arc. "There's a lot of room to go with that character and his upbringing and human background and Krypton heritage," he says. "He's the genetic material of both parents. Superman doesn't have that. It's hard to write for Superman. He's a tough character to create insurmountable obstacles for. This one is unique and insurmountable." For the sequel, Singer will be able to expand and play around with what he's introduced, and "bring in more of the energy" of the contemporary comics, he promised.

Singer likely will do another movie before the sequel to "Superman Returns," according to sources, possibly Warner Independent's "The Mayor of Castro Street" or "Logan's Run" at the big studio. Finally, though, Warners president Alan Horn and production chief Jeff Robinov want this tentpole director to be making movies on their lot -- and not Fox's. And that may, in the long run, be the real payoff to their "Superman Returns" investment.

Cool. Now we just need a 10 second opening paragraph saying Jason died now let's focus on Superman.

No, Singer said he's interested in exploring Jason. Superman has no weaknesses (sans Kryptonite).

Will Jason be healthy?
Was his ailments a disguise (ala Clark for Kal-El)?
Will Jason develop the ability to fly?
Will Lex try to kill the son of Kal-El?
Will Lois marry Richard and raise Jason?

It's an interesting DYNAMIC that Singer added to the Superman Mythos....I can't wait to see it explored more. Especially more action in SR II

the proof is in the pudding Singer.

Pudding? What pudding?

I'm really not surpsied, I knew it would only be a matter of time before Warner Bros. would give the official ok to the sequel . Because Superman returns wasn't a flop, It still made money . And Warner Bros. will make damn sure to milk Superman for all the money it's worth .

You obviously took my response way too seriously.

Yeah, sorry. It seems a lot of people want Jason dead though (right after Singer).....

I REALLY liked Superman having a kid. It finally gives him something he can't fix easily.....A degree of HUMANITY

If the child had been created in the way of the comics, aka Conner Kent, I would have been perfectly fine with it. But Jason Lane is just not a Superboy. He needs to be sent to Military school and out of Superman's life. THat way we can get back to Superman, Lois, and an enemy. That's how it should have been in this one but they needed to add the single mother element because of today's society. blech. You know what the F word is right? Forget, that's the F word. So, forget you Singer, forget you. Go back to X-men and fix them back up.

It's good that there'll be more elements from the comics. But please damnit get rid of the kid! Though, if you think about it. Clark and Lois are supposed to have sex and then they will have a son. If i'm correct....So using that maybe the kid will play apart in the sequel like the comics?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Jason Forever!!!!

He's superman's new sidekick.

as for the news I have to say:

why didn't you do that for returns?

eh? You had a bigger budget then. Arrrgh wb, you fools. He'll waste it again, I tells ya.

I'm going to try and help singer do better with the sequel. Less of this, singer:

we will get more action heres what the President of WB said about that:"We should have had perhaps a little more action to satisfy the young male crowd."

the future looks good on the action front

Agreed, and with technology advancing alot can be done with Superman.
