I want to set up a wifi connection in my home (to use for my xbox) but I don't know how. So far I have the following:

A Linksys Wireless B Broadband Router
NVIDIA nforce Networking Controller

Now do I need a networking card or is that the controller?

Thanks for any help.

P.S the router I have was from a friend and doesnt have an installation card(if there is one).

just have your Ethernet cable to connect to your PC and your router and if you have a installation cd then use it to install it or go to Control Panel and go to wireless network settings and install from there
and remember use a WEP to secure your router

No, dont use WEP....Use WPA...Much better encryption.

well yea, well i use WEP since the router came with Verizon Internet, before that i had my own crappy router that cant install completely and left it open

Do not use any of the software that came with the router. it's more confusing than helpful. Hook everything up and login to the router using 192.168.1.1 usually the default login and password is "admin" Once in go to the wireless tab> basic wireless settings. Change the SSID to whatever you want to name your router. Then go to the wireless security and select wpa personal and make the password something pretty hard for people to crack. Then go to the administration tab and change the admin password to something too.
