Severe weather

Crazy, man. And some people out there still claim global warming is a myth.

That's only because we'd then had to admit it's our own fault. And we're not big fans of taking responsibility for negative things :)

Lost power on October 29.
Got power back on November 2.
Got internet/cable back on November 3.
Got a foot of snow on November 7.

Thankfully, just a lot of fallen branches and small trees in the woods behind my house but nothing major.

Lost power October 29th, Hurricane Sandy.
Got power, cable, and internet on November 1st.
Lost power on November 7th, Nor'Easter.
Got about 4 inches of snow on and got my power, cable, and internet back on November 8th.

I also have my Grandmother living with me probably til Christmas or so. I have my Aunt, Uncle, and my two cousins living with me probably til this weekend, or next weekend. I really hope Mother Nature's wraith can end for a while.

The gas situation has really gotten to scary levels with the odd-even rationing hat they've been forced to implement.

I kinda felt bad because one of the news stations was doing a live-update at a gas station and when the reporter noticed that some guy with an even numbered license plate was getting gas, he tried to talk to him, but the guy screamed "Get the **** out of my way!" on live TV. I've seen videos online of people slipping up on the news, but it just felt so jarring to see it happen live. But its just a sign of how crazy it's gotten out there.

Earth is warming, and for most of its life has been warmer. Nothing we can do to stop it.

What we're doing with fossil fuels is probably not helping though. :cwink:

I never quite understood the fight against global warming. Most we have to lose is spending some time/money on developing green technology. And if we spend all of our time and energy bickering about it and not preparing for at least an oil-free society (because we WILL run out someday), we would be totally f***ed.

Never hurts to be prepared, I say!
