He was offered a minor guest-starring role in the upcoming G.I. Joe live-action movie, but was unable to make an appearance due to an outstanding name and likeness contract with Yukes, the video game developer behind the WWE Legends of Wrestlemania titles.

I'm sick of hearing about Sgt. Slaughter mentioned in the same sentence as live action movie.

It's clear to me that everybody who mentions him have absolutely no idea what he looks like now. He looks ANCIENT! Unless Cobra invade a retirement home the actual Sgt. Slaughter will not be appearing in any live action G.I. Joe flicks regardless of outstanding contracts.

With enough cgi he might be able too. Also he'd have to stay in his chair since he can walk anymore without the aid of a pair of canes or walker.

He can just stay out of the movie that's fine.

Exactly.

It's as if fanboyism has reached such a degree that it blinds people to elementary concepts such as aging.

Does anyone really think Sgt. Slaughter is some sort of ageless freak of nature that has some how preserved the same looks and fitness he had 20 years ago. He's senior citizen for crying out loud, and somehow the fanboys think he would be believable as a military drill instructor :whatever:

A cameo appearance isn't too much to ask for.

I know how old he looks. I still him to cameo.

I'd much rather not have cameos... I heard they're giving Brendan Fraser one. God knows why, though. Slaughter would be a nice homage, but with the so-called reinvention of GI Joe which Stephen Sommers has instigated, one can hardly expect anything to be in line with previous incarnations or sources of the franchise.

I don't think he looks too old to be in the movie.

Having him pop up in the background yelling at cadets wouldn't be bad, but it would merely be for nostalgia-sakes. Plus he'd probably have his old fat arse buttered up and stuffed in tight black leather. *shudder* :csad:

exactly just have a cameo or a mention about some hard ass drill sgt, nothing more than that

Slaughter doesnt look as bad as your making him out to be. Plus something like a cameo would be a nice nod to the 80's and the Joe fans. Why the hate? I mean, its a GI Joe movie, it isnt Shakespear for Gods sake.

If the video game developer behind the WWE Legends of Wrestlemania titles holds the rights, How did they release the GiJoe cartoons on DVD? Or did they edit Sgt. Slaughter from them??

It's dumb if they can't have him cameo. Or even just a picture of him in uniform or something... Or at least mention of his name.

is it me, or is this is really big MISSED OPPORTUNITY?

and he looks the same too.

Best thing ever was when the missing part.....the thing that made Serpentor incomplete...was in fact Slaughters coveted DNA.....

Slaughter was the one who kicked his arse too....

I think they should get Brock Lesnar to play Pig Pen in the sequal.... seriously dead ringer.

If you look up the G.I. Joe interview with Brendan Fraser at Comic Con on Youtube he talks about how his character was originally supposed to be the G.I. Joe Sargent/drill instructor and the character's name got changed because of legal issues. That's pretty good evidence that Brendan Fraser was going to be playing Sgt. Slaughter. Good thing it never happened but this also means we'll likely never see Sarge in any movie form.

WOW! Ok, I'm not too happy with the leaked Cobra Commander toys but THIS REALLY BURNS MY A** SETS!!! Heck, I would make a ten-thousand times better choice then Brendan F***ING Fraser. "Your Dismissed Maggot!"

I thought he was supposedly playing Gung Ho.

There were multiple rumors flying around about Fraser's involvement, but I haven't gotten confirmation of any of them being true. At IMDB they've got one listed that he's going to be a biker who's a descendant of Rick O'Connell from The Mummy, but they didn't say the character's name (not that the rumor was necessarily true). I wouldn't be surprised if Fraser has a cameo in the film, but I'm not putting any money on who he'll be playing.
