I mean wow, seriously, IMO they haven't been doing that well, and you mean to tell me that for over a year, they've had both Shenmue 1 and 2 just sitting there!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Ridiculous

I just really hope they are re-releasing these games with the intent to release a Shenmue 3 game. Shenmue isn't one of those type of games you can just jump into not knowing what's really going on.

According to an interview with a French media personality Yu Suzuki says he's thinking about funding Shenmue III with Kickstarter.

Im still waiting on the rerelease of Shenmue I & II, altho i guess by now we can assume they arent coming.

I'd definitely throw some money at a Kickstarter for Shenmue 3. Without a moment's hesitation I'd be there, so hopefully it goes through.

I say reboot the entire thing. I didn't even know there was a new Fable game recently until I seen it on the bottom shelf at wal-mart in the kinect section

Too bad people didn't appreciate the game in Dreamcast. All were jumping on board the Playstation that time. Shenmue 1 and 2 were my favorite game in dreamcast. The graphics and gameplay were advance before its time.

I'll probably get a VMU and Sonic Adventure 1&2 so I can play with the Chao's directly on the memory card ala Tamagotchis

You answered the question in your post. They did it so they could fit the VMU in there which slided in from the top

So, it should be obvious to any Shenmue fan by now that Shenmue III is never going to come out in the form it was originally intended to and some concessions will need to be made for it ever come out at all. However, in light of this new crowdfunding information, I want to ask you guys some questions.

1. If Shenmue III went to Kickstarter how much would you be willing to donate?

2. Would you still be excited for the game if it didn't have state of the art graphics and overall production value? Like, for example if the game looked like a late PS2 game (see below) and only had Japanese audio with English subs, stuff like that.

The sequel to Planescape was funded on Kickstarter in a mere six hours with 30 days to go. I hope Yu Suzuki and Sega are paying attention.

Granted, Shenmue would likely require ten times what inXile is asking for Torment, but Planescape is also a way more niche thing than Shenmue.

I'd fund a Kickstarter for a comic, a web blog from Ryo, or anything else to just get him and Shenhua out of that damn cave. I need closer dammit!
