SuperHeroHype! Film Society

Welcome to the SHH! Film Society thread. The SHHFS will be composed of 7 members that re-watch past movies that are suggested by posters and agreed upon by the panel. Each panel member will post a comprehensive review of the movie that ends with a rating out of 5 stars [* * * * *]. A select few upcoming big blockbuster movies may also be reviewed in the future. We all will review one movie every 3 weeks or so. We will try to cover the genre bases we all like so that we will contribute equally. Movie suggestions must be agreed upon by the majority of the panel.

As the SHHFS begins to review movies, this thread will contain a table of contents that lists the movies in alphabetical order and appropriately linked to the first reviewer's post of that movie. I believe this forum is overrun with too many polarazied fan approvals or disapprovals so, a fair and diverse panel will be assembled to give the Hype Misc. Films Forum an unencumbered set of reviews.:hyper:

The Panel:

Hunter Rider

Alright, let the suggestions for the first movie begin. I would like to review our first film this weekend and have our reviews in here by the end of next week.

How about The Deer Hunter?

What are you looking to review chaseter? Little seen films? Oscar winners?

Anything goes:cwink: I would like to do a foreign film or an Indie film every once in a while.

I'm game for anything, just need fair warning in case I don't own it, so I can rent it from a Blockbuster or rent it on Netflix. :D

Poltergeist then Casino Royale.

^Cmill, would that even be at a Blockbuster? This won't happen if we have to go to a library and watch a reel.

It's widely available on DVD, and while I didn't actually tell you this, the entire film is on YouTube in crystal clear quality.

Sure I will go for this, especially if it is on Youtube.

Man this thread will be fun to keep up with. I still say Poltergiest.

The second post will have an alphabetical list of movies reviewed with links to the start of the reviews:cwink:

Honestly, I intend to get this flick as Cmill recommended it to me before, so i'd rather watch it on DVD than on youtube. I think starting with something a little more well known might be a good idea personally.

^^^^ Forgot to quote you.

Oh I see, how extremely clever of you.

Indeed it is my cerealkilling friend.

Some things I had planned on doing was having a Halloween theme scary movie next month, reviewing Casino Royale before Quantum of Solace comes out in November, and we will have a Christmas/holiday movie for December. Other than that, I would like to do a review at least every 3 weeks.

Open Range

grossly underrated
I will go for that, I would like at least 3-4 members agree on a movie before we go forward. And I know my grandparents own it and I have never seen it either so

Should I throw out a suggestion(s)? If so....is this a film I'm reviewing, or whatever genre it covers, that person will review it. Hope that makes sense.
