I say yes. Having a son who's part monster can be hard for anyone to deal with, but it's obvious he wants to mend the rift.

I think he should, but no one should be expecting it to be automatic. It's going to have to be a gradual process, particularly for Blade, a guy who rarely shows emotion and hides it all under his anger.

That was so logical. You're right. But a healing process is always gradual. I have a similar issue w/my son. His mother has never really been there for him, & we found out yesterday that she's in the hospital. And he really doesn't care. When he first heard "Your mother's in the hospital", he thought of my wife, & showed concern. When he found out it was his "birth-giver", he resumed playing with his toys. I'm hoping he'll come around & forgive her, as I have.

as much as i want to say yes, it just isn't like blade to do it... maybe his dad can save him and then die? and blade'll forgive him before he dies? then he'll shut down even more and be more pissed off and blade like?

I would think Blade would some-what avoid it, saying something like "what's done is done, no need to apologize" or something, and at the end (maybe Van Sciver finds Blade's dad and kidnaps him for the finalle or something?), he accepts the apology and continues on.

Not like his dad was a deadbeat. I mean the blade would have went psyco under his fathers care. His dad leaving probably made the change to whistlers care a whole lot easier.

No.

Because it would make for some insipid story telling.

His dad did absolutely nothing wrong. The real question is "Why would Blade blame him in the first place?" :(

That's a point of view. Granted, his only sin was freaking out when he saw what Eric had become. But that might have happened to anyone. On the other hand, it was when Eric was feeling extremely vulnerable.

Surely his dad kept tabs on his son and whistler. He should have seen the hero Blade had become and come forward sooner.

Co-sign on that. I felt Blade was taking it to the extreme, really. His animosity didn't feel justified.

True. He could've. I noticed that upon seeing Blade, his stepmom didn't really seem surprised. So she knew what he'd been up to. His pop should have as well.

And not to nitpick about your sig, but it actually went like this:
"The only British idiom I know is that '***' means cigarette."
"Well, somebody tell this cigarette to shut up."

Thanx
I have it on DVD but couldn't be assed to look it up, so just looked online. I thought it was fairly reliable. guess not!

Resentment is often taken to the extreme, especially when it's toward a loved one.

Also, you have to remember that this is a guy who's aim is to erradicate an entire species because he was born like them. He tends to take things to an extreme.

Well, also because they robbed him of a normal life & killed his mother.
