Should I watch Doctor Strange 2007?

I know nothing about Doctor Strange. Should I avoid watching the animated Doctor Strange (2007) until after I see the live action movie? It would probably ruin the movie if I watch it huh.

I watched The Invincible Iron Man (2007) before seeing Iron Man, and that was kind of ok. It was interesting to see the differences and similarities between the movies when Tony makes that grey robot suit while in captivity.

I think you should as Dormammu appears in it, as to prepare yourself for Dormammu potentially being in Marvel's Doctor Strange but if Doctor Strange is an origin film, then don't watch it and just watch Marvel's Doctor Strange.

the animated Doctor Strange movie is actually pretty fckn good. Expect to be a little confused (no worse than say HellBoy) but it's confusing in a good way.

It's a pretty good movie. It will tell you the basic origin with some variety thrown in. The MCU movie will definitely have a different approach. But if you know nothing of Dr Strange I recommend you might as well save it for the film. It will probably be a much better experience that way.

But if you don't care about having a road map, then you can check it out. It would kind of like the difference between Spider-man 1 and the Amazing Spider-man. Both are telling, essential, the same origin story in different ways with different plots(beyond just the origin). So if that doesn't bother you than check it out.

If you rather the twists and turns everyone, who is a fan, are already familiar with a surprise, then save it for the MCU film.

I too think the movie is good but that it's better to wait for the movie if the origin of Strange is unknown to you. The coming movie definitely has a good chance to be better and going in fresh is always nice if you can.

Sure, watch away and throw in those 2 Animated Spider-man episodes that featured Dr. Strange for good measure.

Yeah, thinking about it more and seeing what you guys say about it, I will definitely watch the live action movie first.
