Should Marvel Get The Rights Back To All It's Characters?

Should they buy the rights back?

  • Yes, I want the rights back and it would be a worthwhile investment

  • Not sure, might not be worth it and I don't care who owns who

  • No, more studios means more Marvel movies!

Awful, bad, good, great - people are throwing around these words like they're quantifiable measures.

These are all opinions, and I don't think anyone is going to convince someone else that their opinion is wrong. So, from now on when we refer to the quality of these movies, we say, "In my opinion..." or "I believe..." to avoid useless arguments!

Where's the fun in that? :p

People should realize that such is already a given in any such appraisal of quality.

Even when you do that people say you're opinion is wrong :funny:

Fanboys ***** about movies before they are even made now and claim another will be the greatest thing ever

If people stopped treating their opinion as fact the internet would be shut down indefinitely.

So it's not just "fanboys".

Well it's real simple. When you come up against someone who tells you that you just terminate the conversation since there's no use arguing with an idiot.

Disney is a bigger company than Fox and Sony, so they could put Marvel properties on various mediums, and create a multitude of Marvel Movie Universes. They already have the live action universe with the MCU, but they could easily build a separate Marvel Universe: an Animated Film Universe to connect to their other Disney Animated films and Big Hero 6 kicks off that next year. Other animated options could easily include Power Pack and Runaways. Plus there's also Pixar. Pixar could easily acquire the film rights to Power Pack or Runaways and make it animated if they wanted to.

Speaking of Pixar, I do hope we see "The Incredibles 2" someday. I did read an interview back in May with Brad Bird who said he has some ideas for Incredibles 2, but needs to put them together and see if the ideas are the right fit. It may be the reason I don't see Pixar hoping on the Marvel bandwagon yet. And it would be neat to hear SLJ as Frozone again while also playing Nick Fury, all within Disney.

And surprisingly, the one Disney Superhero film I want to see the most isn't any live action MCU film, it's The Incredibles 2 if it happens. It may be why Pixar has yet to hop onto Marvel.

When Marvel Studios ports off it's movies to another Disney studio i'll believe they could expand so.

Right now there's no precedent, it's all been Marvel studios

Marvel has sent Big Hero 6 over to Disney Animation. It will be based off the comics, but not a part of MCU. It's only starting. I could see them doing the same if they ever decide that Howard the Duck, Power Pack and Runaways best fits Animation better. Disney Animation is likely going to wait and see how Big Hero 6 does before they go after other Marvel Properties.

Pixar isn't interested right now. The Good Dinosaur looks like it's going to be another feel good, fun, family hit for Pixar. I don't know about Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo. Cars 3 is unnecessary, especially if that hack Larry the Cable guy returns as that awful truck character Mater.

Wouldn't Marvel giving other sub-studios the usage of their characters be the same as Fox and Sony using their characters?

I would like to see an other than Toy Story 1 and 3, I thought The Incredibles was the best Pixar film (love to see a sequel). For that reason I would like to see Pixar make an animation based on a Marvel property.

Runaways?

I think X2 and First Class are the best non-MCU movies but Iron Man 1 is better than both. I think X2 and First Class were better than The Avengers though.

Or Power Pack.

Not really. We've already seen this with Big Hero 6. I doubt that there were any plans by Kevin Feige to use any characters from Big Hero 6 in the MCU, but Disney Animation had ideas for them and so Marvel gave them Big Hero 6.

What is Big Hero 6? I have never heard of that property before.

I think Inhumans could make an incredible Pixar movie.

But I'm not opposed to a live-action version with Marvel Studios behind it.

If it's something mainline in the MarvelU like the Inhumans then I'd prefer them in the MCU and live action. But something esoteric like Big Hero 6? Nah, go ahead and give it to the animation houses. That was never even remotely going to be connected to the MCU anyway.

especially the kids. even if you ignore the bad acting by all of them, they were just not written to fit in that time period. the behaved like teenagers of the 00s. there were other issues too, mostly the extreme misogyny of FC

The problem with TASM for me,is I actually thought it was possible to do the origin again, but do it better. They did the complete opposite.

Apart from giving Flash a sliver of character (which wasn't hard, since the Raimi films didn't even try) and putting Gwen in before MJ,there was nothing superior or more faithful than the Raimi version in any way.

Now,if Marvel got their hands on S-M,I can easily see them doing the definitive take on the origin, which I'd be willing to revisit one more time.
