well..?
the executive producer said he died in the beginning of the second part so maybe there is raditz in the next movie
what do you think guys are they putting him in the second or just skip him and what do you think about it

Should they skip Raditz? Yes and No. Heres my explanation, if Piccolo is going to reveal to Goku that he is not from planet Earth and is in fact from another planet ( Planet Vegeta) then the character of Raditz becomes obsolete. Even though Raditz's part has become obsolete that doesn't necessarily mean that they need to completely wipe out the character. What I think should happen is they should instead add Raditz to the Vegeta & Nappa crew. That way you can have Nappa killed by a last attempt of heroism from Piccolo ( I know I'm changing the story a bit, but expect changes for the sequel and it also doesn't completely undermine the ability/strength of the other characters in Dragonball , something the manga did to great characters such as Piccolo, Tien etc :: Which kind of bothered me because I found them to be such great warriors::). Then once Goku arrives from otherworld, Vegeta and Raditz would be the ones that he has to defeat. Having Raditz at this point in the film would help have a complex situation where Raditz is torn between his allegiance to Frieza and Vegeta and having to kill his brother. It would make for great dramatic sequences in the film. So in a way I'd have Raditz take over Nappa's part, When Vegeta orders Raditz to kill his brother and Raditz refuses we can have Vegeta terminate/kill Raditz in the same fashion he killed Nappa in the anime/manga.

Will they skip Raditz? Who Knows :yay:

I would say skip him, Piccolo already tells Goku hes a saiyan, he may kill him too.

A sequel would be 90-110 mins they should leave him out to focus on the others

That would rule if they did that.

I don't think they should just pass up Raditz, I'd like for them to include as much from the mythos in the manga as possible.

I agree with you idea.

I don't think they should skip it. As some one said here previously it kind of sets things up for other storylines like Gohans power be revealing/Piccolo traning him/Goku dieing yah.

How about skipping Nappa and have Raditz arrive, forcing Goku and Piccolo to team up and resulting in their deaths, then have Vegeta come alone and be the sole antagonist for the rest of the film? Or, alternatively, Nappa and Raditz arrive together. Either way, I think it'd be better to focus on Vegeta as the antagonist and the others as lesser threats.

At this point I have doubts Fox would even make Goku die. They seem to have no problem with straying from source material and I could see them thinking of Goku's death and return as being too out there.

its already confirmed he died at the beginning of dragonball 2 or z (how you would call it)

how is it confirmed? the trailor 4 the 1st 1 isn't even out yet. so whered u here that?

Whichever producer said this, they may've only been referring to part 2 of the manga, which we all call 'Dragonball Z'; the death by Piccolo's Beam Cannon ...

well either way, i like raddits. he's cool enoughto be in the biginning of part 2.

Well Raditz serves more story purpose than just telling goku he is an alien. Firstly I expect Piccolo will only tell goku he is an alien of some type. Raditz will be the one to clarify what type of race goku comes from.

Also raditz is neccesary to sperate (via death) goku from the rest of the characters.

Raditz is also the character who a) clues vegeta in on the dragonballs and b) starts the plot by warning them of the imminent arrival of the other two saiyens.

If you remove raditz or lump him in with the other two saiyens then you remove the method by which vegeta learns of the dragonballs. You also thereby remove vegeta`s reason for going to earth, i mean he didn`t come here for the beaches and lovely plants. Most importantly you remove the warning the characters get of the saiyens arrival, without it how do you fill up the time before the saiyens arrive? The best bit of the build up was the cfact all the characters were scared out of the skins in anticipation of the villains landing.

exactly.

they shouldn't skip him because when piccolo kills him and goku he says that there will be two more saiyans and then the training begins which reveals gohan's power and thats when krillin, tien and chiaotzu are introduced in the movie

ya, and they can just say that they where roshis old students who come to help. or something like that. idk

Frankly, I don't really think Raditz is necessary... Goku could be revealed to be a Saiyan by other means.. but heck, I don't see why they -couldn't- include him, even briefly. No idea what would keep them from it.

That's all well and good, but if Dragonball Evolution (and the X-Men Trilogy) are any indication, FOX tends to make veeeeeeery loose interpretations of stories. I think Craig had the right idea. Raditz would just be there to provide some type of dramatic tension and character development for Goku and backstory on the Saiyen legacy.

hmm craigdbfan has an awsome idea but iceburgeruk makes a good point , I just think he should be in it. Anyone think they should introduce Tien? he wasnt majorly important but i just always liked him alot :)

I dont think Fox would stray away from the original DBZ material. The only reason they made DBE is because of the source material. The source material is where the money is at and I doubt there goin to change much, other than character swaps. I can see Nappa being replaced. I could see goku being killed as just vegeta runs amuk, killing everybody. Or they could pull a 2 hour movie. It depends on the script and budget. If I were makin this movie, Id shoot it Danny Boyle style. Instead of spending 20 million dollars on rolls of film (1.75 or more..per film frame, 24 frames a second, extra film for multiple takes, you do the math) just use an HD pro camera with a Film lense adapter, saves the whole production money, the end result is fantastic, just look at slumdog millionare or 28 days later, its...nice and gritty. which is perfect.
