Sin City: A Dame to Kill For - Part 1

It's Eva Green, she's always awesome. Heck 300: Man We Miss Gerard Butler would have been nigh unwatchable if not her sheer charisma and badassery (and Lena Headey, but she's not in it much). God do I want her in to be in a Marvel movie SO BAD!!

Lady Death please!

She'd make for a pretty good Enchantress.

I'd cast her as Evil-Lyn in Masters of the Universe.

Just got around to watching this.

It was decent. Much better than I expected and exponentially better than the 300 sequel. 6/10

However I think the one thing that took me out of the movie more than anything else was the lack of Clive Owen. Besides that the movie still wasn't perfect, but I think having Brolin do it all was a mistake.

Just watched this again on blu ray for the first time and getting it cheap. It was better on a re-watch I enjoyed it more than in the cinema. The main storyline is great and matches anything in the original, but JFL's storyline, while well acted, was just pointless and had such a poor ending.

And Alba's, while she gave probably the best performance of her career, just wasn't that interesting and didn't match up with the timeline from the first movie. Had this come out between 2007-2010, I think it would have been received better and been more successful, but now we will never know.

Me too, Jamon. This movie is much better on Re-watch. I love the main story, Alva's story is good too, JGL's storyline really is pointless and Marv's...well it was it was haha. However the main story is strong enough on its own that I'd still very kuch recommend this movie.

Definitely, the other story's manage to bring the movie down, at least Marv's was short and the other two just weren't that interesting. Dame was amazing though and in that story I can't take my eyes off the screen.

I say tell the rest of the Sin City stories in 2D animation. I always thought that'd be badass. Like the Trinity story in The Animatrix.

It's hard to defend the JGL storyline. Which strikes me as another bad sign since it's a new segment created by modern day crazy Frank Miller.

I personally think it was an excuse to throw JGL in the film. He seems like he would be a Sin City character, and they just didn't have an established story for him, so Miller conjured one up.

^ No evidence on that whatsoever.

It certainly seemed that way, but anyone could have played that character. If you are going to write something specific for someone like JGL, write something better than what we got and especially write a better ending.

It's a shame JGL's story was so meh, as JGL himself fit right in as a Sin City character.

I just don't get why they didn't go with Wallace and Blue Eye yarns. Along with DTKF that would have been a solid group of stories.

Should have knocked out the stronger material then added new yarns instead of going vice versa.

Seeing Eva Green in black & white makes me automatically fan cast her as Morticia Addams

And i'll be honest, I almost forgot that Sin City 2 even existed.

Thirded. At first I thought the notification was for the first movie lol

Definitely, the new material hurt the movie, while the existing stuff was easily the best part.
