Slang Words You Can't Stand

I can't stand any term derived from the rap / hip hop culture. Homie, homeboy, homegirl, dawg, grillz, crunk, etc. I cringe when I hear then.

Quite a few Southern words annoy me. Words/phrases like "down yonder" or "set me to..." or "fixin' to..." ( both of which describe preparation, BTW) make my ears hurt.

Anything that rhymes with the phrase "izzle".

Y'ALL. I hate 'y'all.'

Phat.

Let it go man, it was only cool back in 1995.

When people slurr there words on purpose. Like "Hurrrrr" instead of "Hair"

one that i really find humourous is the term "my bad". it's become so commonplace, i get a kick out of it when i see older professional white people say it like it's a normality.

I am so guilty of both of those.

Also, "I KNOW RIGHT??"

I tend to be pretty tolerant of slang. I usually just hate when people around me try to invent their own slang. It's like "WTF are you talking about. People dont say these things!"

the slang of the "N" word...dumbest word ever, and some people use it like it's a frick'n comma.

sounds like someone is up for a debate...

explain my ignorance :o

Oh.. hahaha.. no, that's not what I meant.

The "N-word" originally meant "an ignorant person" before it's use as a derogatory term for black people. It's use in that manner, and in the manner that it's used today, is ironically ignorant in and of itself.

Sorry about the misunderstanding, I meant no insult to you.

"Crunk" is a good candidate for this list. It's like a forced meme. I've heard it loads of times, but its failure to really catch on just proves how lame it sounds to say. Every time I hear someone try to pull it off, I feel like raising my eyebrow, giving them the stare, tilting my head a bit, and shaking my head slowly. I'm fine with slang in general, but don't shoot for a real life fail when you can say something better in place of "crunk."

lol...ok, gotcha. No worries! And in that context I completely agree with you :yay:

I hate "enit"

or "init"

Either way, the both piss me off.

innit, blud, bedrin, you get me, bling...

in a sentence, youth urban culture slang.

Somebody just said on MSN:

Hey sup homie, whatcha doin'? How r ya? I'm doin' great ma', just go my resultz for my testz, i *****in' rule, ya kno?

I blocked him.
