How the hell that script got the green light I never know.

What they say about Sony not having many franchises is really not true, besides Spider-Man they also have Men in Black, Underworld, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Smurfs is still frofitable, Hotel Transylvania, now they rebooted Robocop, Jump the Street, Dan Brown's books and freakin James Bond.

Though by 2018 Walt Disney will probably have won the race.

Disney destroys Sony.

Disney has at least 5 brands or franchises that can make over 1 billion.

Sony barely has one (Spidey).

I liked watching the Smurfs as a kid. But I had Zero interest in watching the feature films. I haven't seen either of them. They just looked awful! If they make it more like the cartoon and just keep it animated I might check it out! :oldrazz:

"My name is Papa Smurf. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

I might see it if it goes back to the franchise roots as a medieval adventure, with Johanne and Peawitt.

The animation looks a lot better than the live action movie/s, I only wish they'd get the people who did the voices for the original animated series.

I have to say, Danny Pudi for Brainy Smurf is an inspired choice.

The original voice actors for Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Gargamel have all passed on.

Yeah & that's unfortunate, some of the remaining voice actors would be ideal.

This probably makes more sense than what they originally did. Leave them in their own time.

Besides Frank Welker most of the voice cast are either dead or are in their 80's who haven't worked since the 90's.

Okay, this trailer worked, because now I really want to find out what the creatures behind the leaves look like.

I like how they kinda maintain the current day humor even though they're technically in medieval times. That's what the original cartoon did.
