Snowy Hell from the Midwest to the East Coast

And they just closed. Thank you god.

EDIT:
I can't call out. I'm technically an intern, and we don't get sick days without a pretty bad penalty. But all is well, the city is closed. I'm gunna take a shower and enjoy my free day.

I'm glad to hear that Henchy! :yay: I remember when I was younger, our school was always either open or last to be announced as closed. It use to bug me!

Well, here I am typing to you from work....YESSSS!!! Why am I hear?! Lol

Got another 6 inches here in Va. I'm hoping the wind doesn't knock out our power (Though one of my friends hasn't had power since Friday). The only bright side to all this snow is that it should help raise the water table some without causing massive floods like it would with rain.

I just went outside to shovel my stairs, and it is INSANE out there. The already piled up snow is at chest/shoulder level (keep in mind I'm 5'9"!), and the wind is blowing and the snow is still coming down like crazy. I had to climb over the snow to make sure the heat pump outside was clear.

I was a good employee, and valiantly tried to be there today...last night, a coworker who lives across from the hospital offered to let me stay at her place. So cool, I brave my way up there in the snow, and it took me about an hour on the dangerous roads. I get there, and I cannot find her damn apartment. I drove around and around and almost got stuck. Called her for over an hour, and she didn't pick up. I called my floor manager and told her what had happened, and she told me to just stay home tomorrow (now today). Once I'm back home, I get a call from my coworker saying, "Oh, I was asleep! And yeah, my apartment building doesn't have a number on it." So, eff that, I stayed home today

So far we have nothing in MA. Not sure how RI is though. They're letting us leave early with pay!

It's barely 3 inches here in NY/LI. This is crap, I wanted to stay home today but because it isn't so bad out, I have to work. :cmad:

It's supposed to get much worse later, so be careful getting home.

I'm working from home today. Someone I work with just posted something about blasting music in our empty office now on Facebook, and our boss responded to tell her to go home since blizzard conditions are expected later.

people that don't have the good sense to not post crap like that on Facebook deserve what they get

theres gonna be a mixture of snow and rain tomorrow in Dallas, i cant wait for that
its something!

I work for a dot.com but FaceBook has caused issues at our office so our IT dept has blocked it

I want to visit Minnesota or somewhere, and see how normal life goes on when it snows...such a thing is alien to me

We (Nebraska) got nearly 2 ft in some places back in January. Only schools were closed. Most businesses were still open and plenty of people on the roads that morning. I don't think I can remember a time where I've ever had my work closed due to snow......unfortunately. That being said, people are still morons when driving in snow. People need to understand that 4 wheel drive doesn't make you invincible.

It's complete ****ing chaoes outside. My 'hood is right next to an old farmer's field, and the snowy wind is amazing. I got my huge inner-tube ready this time. I can't see anyone wanting to shovel more snow tomorrow, which means I'm gonna be a money making machine.

The sad thing about this never ending frozen tundra is that everyone else seems to have something/someone to do inside.

Sue her!

Watching the news here in Philly, and they mentioned a couple things: We've had more snow so far this year than the past 4 COMBINED. It's also snowed more here than in Boston or Maine....AND We've got another potential storm coming on MONDAY!! WTF??!?!?!?
Son of a b****!!!!!!!! Gonna kick someone's ass if this s*** doesn't stop!! I'm a door to door rep and this weather is killing me!:argh::argh::argh::argh::argh:

Try this. I lived in El Paso for a couple years. One winter we got freezing rain in the morning and it was melted off by noon. It still caused 173 traffic accidents. I hope you don't get any ice, because Texans can't handle it.

They cancelled work for me here in Massachusetts - I live just south of Boston. It's snowing fairly briskly at the moment but we've only gotten about an inch or so yet. Doesn't matter, I got what I wanted, a night off. :D

are you a repair tech or something like that??
Nope, sales rep. We go door to door in our territory to market new services and such. Pays pretty well, too. Well, except when it's f****** snowing it's ass off!

With the added snow, this crap is past my waist. Out of control.

I didn't know companies even did that anymore...sounds so old fashioned....most people here in the northeast probably wouldn't answer the door if it was someone they didn't know

I just shoveled the 5-6 inches we had in the morning... now it's back to a foot. This sucks... I thought the upper north east was getting like 8-10 inches max. We've gotten almost double that.
