The Dark Knight So Batman's now a murderer.

There are alot of strange plot directions, that don't really make much sense in the whole scope of things.

I feel that The Dark Knight's plot was built off the back of some big scenes. There are some fantastic scenes, but all together it's a bit of a mess.

I just started thinking about this.

Batman has decided in order to stop The Joker, everyone must believe that Batman himself committed Harvey Dent's murders.

The Police charge in with their dogs, as Batman runs off into the night.

But wait a second.. Let's see this from the cops viewpoint. WHY would Batman, a guy who has spent the past two years or so, helping the Gotham PD fight crime, a guy who has never killed a single criminal he has brought to justice, suddenly kill the city's District Attorney, Harvey Dent, a man who has saved the city from organized crime, and did nothing wrong? a man who Batman had befriended, a man who Batman previously saved from an exploding building, AND the Joker's semi-truck/thugs?

WHY did Batman, just minutes after apprehending the city's most notorious criminal, decide to kidnap Harvey Dent and take him to 250 52nd St in order to kill him? Why did Batman take off his hospital gown and put him back in his old clothes? What was the point of bringing Harvey's coin with him?

Are the Gotham Police this stupid to believe Gordon's story? Batman has no motive to commit the crimes he's accused of, killing Dent just goes against everything Batman stands for. Why are Gordon's wife and kids there? Why did the cops just charge in with their dogs, no questions asked?

Guess we'll just have to wait for the sequel to see how Gordon and the Gotham PD handle the situation.

It´s simple, police officers never completely supported Batman. He´s an outlaw vigilante who dresses up like a bat, quite possibly a mentally unstable person, not to mention he helped to make crooked cops´lives harder. He had recently been accused of being indirectly responsible for five deaths, including of law enforcement representatives, cuz he didn´t want to turn himself in. Maybe he finally gave up and started being judge and executioner, and Dent tried to stop him.

I just saw the movie again and there´s NOTHING messy about its plot, it´s just very intricate, it´s pretty much all there if you just pay attention.

I'm not to sure who he's talking about, but it may be the ninjas in the temple that blew up. Other then that, I can't think of a time where he killed anybody. Although, he did wreck a ton of stuff.:hehe:

This what a lot of people claim when they claim that batman did kill in Begins, but I don't buy it. The only person you actually see as definitely dead is fake Ra's. You see a lot of Ninjas tossed about by the explosions, but you don't see anyone that is obviously dead. I've watched this scene in slo-mo a couple of times, and considering that one of the major aspects of martial arts training is learning how to fall and absorb impact without injury, I've seen nothing in that scene that looks like something a well-trained Ninja couldn't walk away from.I counted about eight or so Ninjas caught in the explosions and tossed about, but none were close enough to the actual blasts to be killed. Added to the fact that Nolan made a point of showing Ninjas from the temple alive at the party, convinces me that no-one other than fake Ra's actually died

I kinda wonder if the farmer Bruce said he wouldn't kill died in the explosion...That would be great irony!

It's pretty clear that Nolan's Batman is the kind that wont directly kill someone, but if someone happens to be in a situation where they could end up dead or alive, depending on their own actions, Batman "doesn't have to say them".

Obviously, there are some non-Nolan Batman fans out there who love to claim this Batman is a hypocrate based on technicals of some actions, such as Bruce starting the explosion in Ra's house but leaving everyone to escape themselves as being an act of murder on Bruce's part.

But it's obvious that Nolan isn't concerned with technicalities such as these. If his Batman fatally shoots or stabs someone, or throws someone off a high point, then he's a murderer, which is why he saved Joker after throwing him off the building.

It's definitely a very fine line Batman walks. I think it makes for a very interesting character.

^That´s what I been defending for years. Bats is not The Punisher, but not Superman either. He walks on the edge.
