Am I the only one who was taken aback by Hype actually adding a James Bond subsection on the boards...? I mean I always figured this topic would be more of CS's things. Not that I mind but I just found it surprising.

I'm with ya! I was shocked too, but really happy! Bond certainly is a hero, and it's great we've got our own little section to post in. :p

All the heroes' information pages are at CS, look at the different Hypes.

I'm extremely excited about Casino Royale. It's going to be one of the best Bond movies ever!

Whiny Fanboy *****-Ranter: Yeah, but he's blonde!
Reasonable Bond Fan: That's not really important, is it? After all, every single Bond actor after Sean Connery, while maintaining a similar hair color has actually had a completely different BODY, which is even more noticeable than hair. Nobody complained when Lazenby or whoever replaced Connery. Maybe that's because fanboy *****es didn't exist yet. But be that as it may, an actor's hair color is a pretty stupid thing to be mad about. Kind of like people whose only reason for hating Constantine was that Keanu Reeves isn't blonde. Pretty f'n dumb.

Reasonable Bond Fan: [punches the living **** out of Whiny Fanboy *****-Ranter.]
Whiny Fanboy *****-Ranter: [blood runs down face] Yeah, but he's BLONDE! BLONDE! HE'S BLONDE! THAT MAKES HIM A BAD PERSON WORTHY OF BEING THE SUBJECT OF A VIOLENT CRIME! I NOW HATE HIM AS A PERSON, EVEN THOUGH I'VE NEVER MET HIM, JUST BECAUSE HE ACCEPTED THE BOND ROLE! NER! DERRRRRR! DERRRR!
Reasonable Bond Fan: ...

Seriously as Christopher Lee said, give him a chance before judging him. Anyway, perhaps some will always stay close-minded. Like the whiny fanboys you mentioned droogiedroogie2!

Hahahahahahaha!!! that cracked me up.

im only skeptical because ive only seen daniel craig in tomb raider and road to perdition, so i have no idea what his james bond will be like. my friend tells me to watch Layer Cake and my worries will be laid to rest so its on my to do list.

but other than that im excited. its been a while since the last bond film and theyre "revamping" the character. i just hope they dont change too much. they say this one is more down to earth, which is fine, but part of what made bond so famous and fun was all the gadgets and exotic cars and semi unreal villians.

I don't doubt that Craig could probably pull off a slick spy/caper film, but not as James Bond. Bond has, historically, been characterized by his suave demeanor, humor, and devastatingly good looks. Let's admit it, we love Bond because of his rather comical superficiality. Attempts to make Bond more "serious", "dark" and "gritty", miss the point. If Craig can be Bond, then he is evolving into a very different character than the one we've come to know and enjoy over the decades(at least on film). If this is what the public wants, then it will succeed. If not, then it's back to the drawing board.

Hahaha. This is the only thread in this section, and it's crap. lol!

Well, the trailer has been officially released to the net and it's looking pretty good. THe thing is it's also available for download to the PSP, but after I downloaded it to my PSP it says it's unsupported media and I can't watch it. SO if anybody's got a clue how to correct this problem I'm all ears. :spidey:

Everything bother me with Craig. Not only the way he looked but also the way he " plays " Bond

You haven't really gotten a real taste of the way he "plays" Bond yet - we saw a few brief actiony clips with a truncated line of dialogue in the beginning. There's not really much there to judge other than the quality of the action - and only *one* action sequence at that (which looks very memorable and fun, BTW).

Check Craig out in Elizabeth (the one with Cate Blanchett). He's in a small but notable role and does "menacing" pretty well in that.
