The Wolverine So Mariko and Yukio will have no idea who Logan is now correct?

I mean of course Wolverine will remember his relationships and interactions and memories with those girls..But they will have no clue about him and that's sort of sad when you think about it. Again tho, Wolverine has dealt with a lot of crap his whole life, this is just something else he'll have to deal with.

Unless Mariko and Yukio return in another movie, it doesn't really matter.

I think we could just view The Wolverine as one of Wolverine's many adventures.

After-all, they wanted that movie to be a solo shot.

Logan still met Yashida before DOFP took place in 1945. Therefore in 2013 Yashida would still have sent Yukio to find him and convince him to go to Japan. So he may have still met them and things played out similar, the same or completely different.

But its all theoretical now, they can overwrite it or leave it as it is to assume things played out the same.

That's what I'm thinking too. The Wolverine seems pretty isolated from the rest of the movies. I mean, besides the adamantium claws and the Jean problem, the events of the movie seems like it can work just fine in the new timeline unless I"m missing something...

The only variance is that Jean would still be alive so he wouldnt have been pinning for the loss of her at the start of proceedings. But he could still be pinning because Scott is alive and would presumably still be with Jean so Logan may have still gone to Japan alone to get away for a while.

A lot of this is hypothetical now of course but the fact remains that Yukio would have been sent to find Logan so would still have met him, Mariko is dependent on whether Logan still decided to go to Japan, so something like "The Wolverine" would have happened again in this new timeline.

The way I see it is Yukio found him at Xavier's instead of the woods and he wasn't mourning Jean, rest of the movie was the same

In the sequel, if they want to bring back Yukio and/or Mariko, they can briefly hint at that.

neither has a place in an X-men movie though so thats irrelevant. Save him for his next solo outing. Even then, I think they should tackle other characters instead of Mariko and Yukio again

It is still a little early to make such declarations. Yukio was quite popular, and I don't see why they wouldn't want to bring her back.
