Comics So Superman "goes global"-what next?

So Superman renounces his American citizenship( Action Comics#900) or at the very least "goes global". This opens up some intriguing plot lines to put it mildly- will we see the Man of Steel( who presumably resigns from the Justice League of America as it's "too nationalistic" given its name) joining the "Global Guardians" and bringing indicted real world war criminals such as Sudan's Omar and al-Bashir and Libya's Muammar Gaddafi to justice before the International Criminal Court at The Hague( yes, the US is not a signatory to the ICC but as Superman is no longer a US citizen legally speaking he can do this without any repercussions for American)?

Superman has already been a global hero. As for David Goyer's story where he has Superman intending to renounce his U.S. Citizenship, DC says, "This short story is just that, it will not be followed up upon. Superman will remain as American as Apple pie."

I've always seen the character as more of the world's hero anyway. And besides, from my understanding of it, it wasn't an Anti-American sentiment, more sort of "while I still love this country I landed in, I need to do something bigger to help more people" viewpoint from Superman.
