Transformers So, Tranformers will be a HARD PG-13?

Dudes, for all of us growing up in the 80's and watching the Transformers all the time, begging parents to buy us the toys, etc, to have it rated R would be so ****ing tight!!! Imagine the violence and obviously, lots of people would have to die. I figured this would be a PG-13 movie all the way. I say, forget the kids watching it in today's world. Give us, the real fans, what we want and make this **** rated R!

I think Bay and Spielberg played their cards right. Make it PG-13 because a huge part of your fanbase needs it to be rated PG-13. But still have it where its very hardcore!

Steven Spielberg is pretty good at walking the fine line between PG and R. Back in the day it was a controversy when he somehow finagled a PG rating for Poltergeist (which happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time).

In fact, I think it was Poltergeist that directly led to the MPAA creating "PG-13" a few years later.

This movie NEEDS to be PG13 or else only no-life nerds and intense-transformer-fans will go see it which is I dunno maybe 200 000 people? WHich is what a total nose dive?

HA! Transformers? An R rated movie? Oh yeah lots of 18-65 year olds would go see that >_>. What's with kids these days and the thing about watching an R rated movie?

Betcha if the movie had no violence, sex, coarse language or gore but still had an R rating, it would satisphy your extreme "craves" for watching an R rated movie. What do they do after eh? Do they go to there lil friends and say: "OH MY GOD! OH........MY........GOD!!!!!!!!! Yyyyesterday......I.....watched....AN R RATED MOVIE!!! ISN"T THAT...LIKE.....AMAZING?!?!:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: .....Oh yeah now I'm mature enough to go watch R rated movies. I'm like a total adult now! Like isn't that amazing or what? I..I'm uh cool right? I I mean I uh I watched an R rated movie that has to count for something right I'm I I'm cool now, yeah.....uhuh......uh yeah.....yap"

Jeez give it a rest. The movie's still cool even with a PG 13 :P

Poltergeist messed me up as a kid on so many levels. Every time I saw a channel with nothing but static I freaked out, turned it off and ran away. Talk about a way to get your kids to stop watching tv...but it doesn't work with mine. I guess kids today are more resilient and don't find things we found scary to be scary.

Yeah cuz only no-life nerds would want to see an R-rated movie with a boy running aroung with a robot who says corny lines while trying to save humanity!!!

In other news Terminator 2 (rated R) made 500 million. :o

differerent times.

differerent times.

Explain why people wouldn't go see Terminator 2 today?

Are you saying 300 (R-rated) is a better than T2?

That "times have changed" crap sounds like some excuse Schumacher would use to make lighter Batman movies. Total bulls--t.

I don't think a Transformers movie needs to be rated R but the idea that people wont watch R-rated movies about machines taking over the planet is total crap.

Adjusted for inflation T2 made 700 million. So did Matrix Relaoded. Both were R-rated.

Sounds like bull**** to me. If they rated it R, the only way they'd change it to PG-13 is if some violence that pushed their alarms was taken down a notch. I don't care how much ass Spielberg owns, he doesn't have THAT much pull. The MPAA is like a bunch of angry soccer moms, no way in hell they'd bend over for Mr. Berg.

actually, he does. he did the same thing for "Saving Private Ryan." when the movie came back, it was NC-17 and he was able to talk them down to an R without having to re-edit it.

the MPAA seriously needs to re-think and re-tool the way they rate movies. it's rediculous.

Point blank, they want to sell toys when this thing comes out. Have Happy Meal tie-ins, etc. And you can't do that with an R rated movie. Had The Matrix been PG-13, it would've been merchandised like a mother****er.

well i think what happened with 300 is different because peopel actually like this movie. people around me are obssesed with this movie.
i dont think that bay can make that kind of movie to get people from all around the world to watch hes movie that is R.

terminator? again this was a very very very good movie. i dont think that a studio wants to risk this with transformers and bay. 300 is already on paper R. TF is not. TF was at beginning for kids ...cartoon :cwink:
now they are making a movie.

Me too brutha. Me too. As a matter of fact I plan on having it be my daughter's first real horror movie (she just turned eight) next year or so. The only scary thing she's seen is JP and Gremlins (only recently). Poltergeist is next!

I agree both with you and blind fury in a way. If a movie is GOOD it doesn't matter what its rated. "Times" don't really change tho.... in fact history repeats itself: 300 reminds me EXACTLY of Conan The Barbarian when it came out. That was one sex-filled and violent movie that every kid was obsessed with.

In fact, for the sequel (The Destroyer) they were forced to make a pratically G-Rated movie because of the wide appeal of the first one.

Michael Bay has already proven (many many times) that he is incapable of making a good movie.

I'm counting on the clown and walking toys. Hopefully, it'll help me get rid of some of the quadrillion stuffed animals in her room.

Lol, who would have thought CFlash would be such a loving father :whatever:
