Sony Announces Dualshock 3

Yeah, you definitely have well thought out ideas.

You keep telling yourself that. But while me and millions of others are enjoying MGS4 next year, you'll still be flaming away on message boards saying "It could still come to Xbox 360, you know! It makes sense financially!"

Rumors are not facts. And right now, the facts state that MGS4 is NOT on Xbox 360. Deal with it, it'll only cost you $599.

WTF is flamining? Get a dictionary.

Oh please, you calling me a troll is ironic. Just because I don't have a PS3 or don't like it doesn't mean I'm stupid. "Ooh, I have a PS3! I'm smarter than everyone else, and my opinions are always correct." And IF MGS4 never comes to 360, I'll be fine with it. Keep chipping away, Timmyboy.

I'm not buying a PS3 over MGS4. I'll stick with Halo 3 and Bioshock if it happens.

What aggravates me is that you are acting as if MGS4 being PS3 exclusive is the rumor and that the Xbox 360 port is the fact, when it's the other way around.

Hideo Kojima IS a company suit, and he's one of the biggest in the entire freaking company. He has the power to do what he wants with his game, and the other suits fall in line behind him.

You do know that other company suits can DEFINITELY conflict with Kojima if his stubbornness over keeping MGS4 an exclusive will risk the company to a loss worth millions of dollars, right? It is precisely why a Konami executive openly stated the possibility of MGS4 going multiplatform. And since Kojima doesn't exactly own Konami, his decision is ultimately irrelevant when it comes to the financial prospects of the company.

People are going to buy PS3s to play MGS4. Which would you rather be able to say: that you had the #1 game on one console, or the #4 game across both consoles? We don't know the reasons why MGS4 is exclusive, but we know it is, and no Xbox-fanboy-started rumor is gonna change that. They are called RUMORS for a reason-- because they're usually NOT TRUE.

Well, if you ask me (and any sane businessman), I'd rather try as much as possible to spread the risk of an investment as sizable as MGS4 across as many platforms as possible, ESPECIALLY when my originally intended platform has failed miserably in achieving expected sales targets. By bringing MGS4 to the 360 as well, I will now have thrice the potential customer base than what I had with the PS3 alone. And I'm sure the execs at Konami are thinking the exact same thing, PRECISELY why these little tidbits keep leaking out again and again.

Don't get a migraine over this stuff.

I KNOW it's coming to PS3. I have a good feeling a port is coming to 360. So what if I think like that? Is it really that big of a deal that you have to shoot it down everytime the discussion comes up?

LOL, I had already stated numerous times that I don't give a damn about MGS4. I'm only doing this because it really amuses me to see how it riles the Sony fanbase. It's like poking someone with a stick - it is infinitely more entertaining if you continue to get loud and wild reactions. :hyper::up:

I guess if you call saying over and over again "Kojima doesn't want it done so it won't happen" shooting it down, then yes. He will keep going on about that, even though Kojima has no power over the decision in the end.

Sure, Kojima and his team make the game, but Konami shells out the money to develop and release the game. And regarding Fenrir's post about the triple-consumer base, they're definitely factoring that in.

I would like to see Bioshock on PS3, but I'm not going to stake my reputation on the possibility of it. Until there's an announcement, it's all speculation. Konami's executives made some comments about a 360 version of MGS4 early on to make sure Sony took them serious about their complaints. And guess what? Sony cleaned house in their games department a few months later, and probably gave Konami plenty of incentives to not jump ship.

Everyone and their grandma knows that MGS4 does not need a pre-installed userbase to sell well. It's a series driven by the fans, and the fans will play it on PS3 if that's the system it's on. They do not NEED to port it to Xbox 360 for it to sell well. MS has probably done their best to convince them that it does, but that is nothing but a myth. Exclusives help sell hardware, which in turn widens the audience for future exclusives. That is how the industry works. It's never been one system has all the exclusives and everything else has nothing, or we'd have only one console. MGS4 is part of the PS3 equation, so naturally MS wants to eliminate it. But so far, they have failed.

A lot of this crap reminds me of the Sony fanboys on this site saying "DMC4 would NEVER come to 360! :whatever:"

It's gonna happen. Money talks.
well Id hardly say DMC4 is on the same level as MGS4 and based on Capcom's past history (um Im talking about you RE4), it wasnt too surprising to see where they went with that game

Timmyboy... Lol, I've heard it before, and it was always from morons with nothing left to say.

Whats that

Seriously what is it, I spend most of my time in the Bat-forums :(

I see now, I thought it meant that there was gonna be an Xbox type gameboy

When the warranty expires 3 years from now? Come on. By that time this whole "war" is over and probably onto the next generation or the beginnings of it. And to my knowledge, not sure if this is correct or not, but doesn't the falcon model fix those problems? I've had the 360 since a little after launch, I have sent it in once for the RROD problem. Believe me, its not feeling like I am paying $400 for repair service. There are a lot of numb nuts out there who end up sending it in more because of their own fault than anything else. But blaming MS is the easy way out for them since its only the third time they accidentally knocked it over while playing a game.

Apparently, no it does not.

First case of Xbox 360 65nm CPU / GPU (Falcon) RROD

It didn't take long, but the first reports of the new 65nm CPU / GPU (code named Falcon) overheating has just surfaced. Seen on the picture is a limited edition Xbox 360 Halo 3 edition. This system incorporates the rumored 65nm chipset.

Notice where the console is placed.

1st rule of running expensive electronics equipment that requires good ventilation = don't put it on a ****ing shagpile carpet you TARD (the 360 owner, not you Kal ;))

I'm willing to bet this may have been the cause of many other RRODs

It's still ******ed that the new chip doesn't even prevent RRODs. It's in there to save MS money, and they're not even passing it on to consumers so I don't know why the crap we should care about it. And it shouldn't matter if the Xbox is on the carpet or not, because the underside isn't where the vents are. When my friend brings his Xbox 360 over, we always have it on the floor, which while not as shaggy as that carpet still is a carpet none-the-less. A good product should fit itself to people's lifestyles, not require people to bend over backwards to accommodate its problems. The failure of the Falcon model is only further proof that MS has their heads in the sand about the whole freaking problem and has no intention of fixing it any time soon.
