then they'd be losing even more money. Their current price point seems to be working at the moment. Things are much better than the original pricingI suggest they lower PS3 prices to $300.
That way I can afford it.
Still....that's a ton of dough, considering the price tag is still a big one.
MGS4 is doing it's part nonetheless. I suggest they restock and continue to restock on those MGS4 bundles. Those should keep selling like hotcakes.
they knew they'd be losing money. The PS3 was a future investment in the new BR technology. You have to lose money to make money. They were hoping on turning a profit years from when they launched the system. The PS3 and the BR line has been picking and doing better now than it was before. Sony isnt in trouble. I think people sometime forget that the company is HUGE and has many other divisions besides its gaming one.
Well, Blu Ray actually has been slowing down, Sony is not moving near as many Blu Ray units as they thought they would when HD fell.

why are people udner the impression that once someone goes BR that movies owned on DVD have to be rebought? This isnt the same thing with VHS to DVD since all BR players are backwards compatible with DVDs so rebuying isnt an issue. The only movies I plan on rebuying are the first 2 X-men movies but thats it. Everything I own in DVD will stay on DVD. From here on out though, I only buy BR, with the exception of tv shows which are slow to make the transitionI really don't want to rebuy all my DVDs again as I have about 200 of them, and I'm not the type of guy to buy a DVD for its 6 hours+ of special features, but MGS4 is the pretty much the only reason I want to get a PS3, that and a small urge to get a Blue-ray player, fairly cheap.
