As much as I want to play MGS4, it's not worth it.

And I've enjoyed the series since my roomie in college got MGS in 98

Some might say yes, I even recall a couple of posters on this very board attesting to that (like Carter). Frankly speaking, MGS4 is not worth it, especially if it "disappoints" many people like MGS2 did (or in the case of people like me, MGS3). As for the PS3, it's worth it...after a nice price drop (but I'm financially well off enough to buy the premium one at launch if the games are good, so there's a possibility). There are a lot of games on the platform that I can't resist such as the God of War, Gran Turismo, Devil May Cry 3, Final Fantasy XIII and of course, MGS4.
