Well seeing as Zenny's no longer round these parts much, thought I'd take it upon myself to organize a general thread for all the wonderful Playstation Day 08 media, which kicked off just under 3 hours ago now. Let's take a look see.

February 09 for Kilzone? Ouch
Resistance 2 and MGS4 will help ease that pain however

Yeah I'm not too fussed over that really, there's plenty a good game to be had before that.

I think its best for Sony to hold off on Killzone 2. They cant have both of their big first party FPS games coming out at the same time. At the moment, Resistance 2 has more buzz and momentum, so they're going with that. I think it would have a much better shot at selling this fall with the other big titles, than Killzone 2 would. It should do better in Feb 09

Resistance 2 GP. Crappy quality video. Sorry.

I agree. It makes it easier for us in the wallet as well. My Best Buy gift cards from Christmas can go toward KZ2.

I WAS UPSET AT FIRST ABOUT KILLZONE II, BUT QUICKLY REALIZED IT WAS A SMART MOVE ON SONY'S PART TO DISTANCE IT FROM RESISTANCE II AND TO GIVE THEM MORE TIME TO POLISH OFF THE GAME, IT'S COOL!!!:D:up:

Highlights so far:

Okay guys, we've got most of the highlights so far, so feast your eyes on the following details straight from today's PlayStation Day event in Europe.

First of all, it was confirmed that PlayTV will be launching in Europe this September, which is going to be a big deal for that territory. Then, they got into talking about Echochrome being the "Rubik's Cube" for the PlayStation generation, and we get an excellent quote from SCEE president David Reeves- "Gaming is an acceptable, if not desirable form of entertainment." Well, finally (but we already knew that). They moved on to talk about Go! View for the PSP, which will use a computer to download video content like movies and music. This service will be ready to go on June 30, and will be the "first downloadable service of its kind, incorporating content from Sky on a subscription or pay-per-view basis." (source- GameSpot)

Reeves was all kinds of happy about Blu-Ray's victory and continued success in 2008, and added that PS3 owners are really embracing the new movie format. He also promoted BD-Live, which, as he said, will be the "future of the format." Now, onto the big news: it has been confirmed that Killzone 2 really won't release in Europe until February of 2009; we don't know if this delay applies to other regions just yet. MotorStorm Pacific Rift was next on the schedule, but we already filled you in earlier today. Sticking with the big-name titles, the audience was then treated to a work-in-progress video for Resistance 2, which briefly popped up on the Internet before being taken down almost immediately. New details for the game include mobile bubble shields and static flat shields for multiplayer, the ability to play as the Chimera, and the re-confirmation that 40-60 players can play together online.

Lastly, we learn that LittleBigPlanet will arrive for the PlayStation 3 in October, and Kaz Hirai spoke about the success of the PlayStation Network. He also said we shouldn't expect PlayStation Home to launch until he's "completely happy with it" (shades of Hideo Kojima!). He also noted that the first year for the PS3 was a "difficult one" but that "things have improved considerably," citing software like Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Grand Theft Auto IV. Hirai also repeated the goal of the PS3 to last 10 years, which is something we've heard from Sony before.

Those are the biggest highlights of the show so far, and if anything else happens that's of significance, we'll post it up. Just remember, all of this is only confirmed for Europe and no other territory at this point in time
