Don't know if this has been posted yet, but christ that's pathetic

LOL: SCEE caught red handed editing Wikipedia Halo 3 entry, insult graphics
dot_clear.gif

Uh oh, SCEE has been caught editing a Wikipedia entry on Halo 3. Sony added "Halo 3 won't look any better than Halo 2" to the entry, although the page has been corrected and locked from further alterations. The IP address which was uncovered by Wikipedia as editing the respective page is 217.18.23.2 and that goes straight back to SCEE's Liverpool studios.

:whatever:

Hey check out this new PS3 remote!

Many home theater geeks love their PlayStation 3s as Blu-ray players, but don't want to pick up a gaming controller to watch a movie. But thanks to the PS3's lack of an infrared port, existing universal remotes can't be used with the console. That's why the niche of PlayStation 3 remotes has popped up, and the newest remote from Messiah is slick-looking. The Messiah Darklite DVD remote strongly resembles LG's Chocolate cell phones, and as you slide down to open the remote you get access to more advanced functions like chapter forward/backward and display. The remote also looks to be fully backlit, which is a big plus if you plan to use it in a darkened home theater. Backlighting uses a lot of battery juice, so it's nice that the Darklite has a built-in rechargeable battery that plugs into the base station. The base station itself connects to the PS3 via a USB port. The base also doubles as an IR receiver, which means you'll need to physically point the remote at the station, unlike Sony's own Bluetooth-powered remote.

The Darklite has a cool design and its $30 price tag isn't terrible, but I think a whole lot of home theater buffs just want a cheap USB IR receiver they can use with their universal remotes. Messiah is currently taking preorders for the Darklite DVD remote, with a shipping date of September 25.

my only worry is that it looks like it only has nine buttons.

I have the official remote with all the buttons.

I like buttons.

:)

that remote looks pretty damn cool

I looks like an iPod. For better or worst at least.

Hey all great minds do that from time to time:

About the Remote.

Whats the point? Surely the wireless controller (whilst bigger and less cool looking) performs EXACTLY the same function?

Its for DVD buffs who might feel that the controller is way too childish.

On the topic of the Blu-Ray remote, it looks okay, but personally, I would rather see a universal remote with built in Bluetooth rather than one that requires an unsightly USB dongle on my PS3. Once PS3 has become more popular, it wouldn't surprise me if we start seeing Bluetooth compatible universal remotes, especially with there being so many blue tooth enabled devices these days.

An "unsightly USB" dongle?

What would the neighbors and guests think?!
