Agreed all round. They dismissed Trump as a threat early and completely botched it with Garrison standing in. Season 20 was a disaster in general. I didn't think about it before, but it will actually be nice to have Mr. Garrison back. A definite low-key pro to that knob being gone.

Yeah it seems like they counted on Trump losing, so they were stuck with Mr. Garrison posing as him. It would've been better if they just did Trump.

Also why aren't they making a new season? You would think it's a perfect time for animated content right now, since it's not really affected that much by the pandemic. (And there's so much happening that they could use)

They were so sure Trump would lose their post-election episode was advertised as being about Bill Clinton becoming the first First Gentleman. They had to massively rework it at the last minute. And this was the season where they had decided to go fully serialized with a pre-planned story so it broke a lot of that too.

I suspect the specials are the best way to keep people working at the moment. A full season is a lot of moving parts and probably difficult to organize with people working from home.
