Animation South Park

So I guess they're releasing them biweekly now? Whatever works to avoid burnout with the one week time crunch. This is the strongest start the show has had in about a decade so it'd be awesome if they can keep it up throughout the whole season.

Hating Trump means more ratings... But does that mean people hate Trump? :exp:

The Tegridy Farms saga is finally done?! I never thought this day would come!

And I'm glad that for once, compared to the previous two, this episode kept the Trump stuff to a minimum. It's funny, but distracting and takes away from the actual South Park stuff. Never mind that the boys haven't had much focus (Cartman's depression in the premiere felt more like a B-plot), even though Randy is basically the show's main character now. But nice for the main plot to focus on Randy and Towelie.

One of the Paramount+ specials had Randy going back to being a geologist but they kind of dragged the Tegridy Farms arc out way too long. I'd rather see Randy get into random one-off adventures like he used to that have nothing to do with the farm.

With all two-week breaks, it'd be nice to get an episode around the four boys, if it's not too much trouble! Remember Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny? Whatever happened to those guys? Sure, Stan was in the last episode, albeit more Randy-focused, and Cartman had his depressive episode with Butters tagging along, but so far, the boys feel like background characters in their own show.

There's nothing wrong with giving spotlight to characters to Mackey or bringing back folks like Towelie, but let's see the boys get into some wacky misadventure. While funny, Trump 24/7 gets old fast, much as it did with Garrison in Season 20- and even then, Garrison wasn't even in every episode. Unless there's a reveal that Trump here actually is Saddam in disguise.

Matt and Trey have basically gone on record saying that the show's gotten more Randy-centric as they've gotten older but they do need to focus more on the boys within the actual show. They've given them more stuff to do in the Paramount+ specials but those are their own separate thing. The last couple of seasons of the show were underwhelming anyway even with the stories that revolved around the kids, like the BB gun episode or Cartman living in a hot dog.

The Trump bashing has been hilarious and on point but I'd love a back to basics story with just the kids harkening back to the ninja episode or the pirate episode from back in the day.

Oh, no argument here. Randy is effectively the show's main character at this point. Even in episodes about the boys, Randy will inevitably get involved.

Sometimes it works, like in the Airsoft episode, but as the show has progressed, Randy shares about as much screen time as his son, if not more.
