SPARTACUS: War of the Damned! Final Season!

Young Tiberius really likes to do it by behind even when killing his enemies, he back stabs them, such a coward.
I can't wait to see who kills him.

Agron seems critically wounded but not quite dead, was he ?

He wasn't dead yet, but the romans crucify him, and the rest of the captured army.

If they didn't have Crixus act stupid this season, I would've been sad to see him go. But, his death didn't illicit any emotions from me.

Wait:

How the hell was Tiberius able to rape Caesar?

He had two of his men hold him down knowing Caesar wouldn't tarnish his name by having it known that a "boy" did that to him. Tiberius screwed him literally and metaphorically, it would seem.

Thought about something:

What kind of world do we live in that Julius ****ing Caesar gets ass raped on television before Hitler? Lol I still can't believe I actually saw that.

For an ancient roman to be bested and penetrated by a male let alone a younger male is the worst kind of shame. Roman men could take other male slaves but they themselves would never allow themselves to be uh well you know. This was ancient rome's worst kind of slander. Politicians would say other politicians would let boys do this to them because it meant they were the worst kind of weak. So to have it happen would probably have destroyed Caesar. Tiberius did the worst possible thing he could do to Caesar because if it ever got out Caesar would be finished.

Lol if the real Caesar could see what Starz just did to him he would flip out.

@Marvolo regarding Agron, they will next episode when he gets crucified if they don't already.

And the Tiberius/Caesar scene reminded me of HBO's Rome there was a lot of that on that show.

Hmmm he did think she wanted to march on Rome, but we know she didn't actually want to do that, but she knew Crixus wanted to and wanted to support him. So really, it was a case of her not saying she wanted to go with Spartacus. Gotta tell your partner what you want otherwise you march on Rome and get stabbed in the back by a boy who would rape his own grandmother if she got out of line.

In hindsight that whole battle after the rape is hillarious. Caesar trying to fight with a sore ass while his rapist takes all the glory.:lmao: Its a wonder Ti didn't try to rape Crixus.

Oh and what about Agron? Doesn't anyone have any feels for him?

I don't think he died..........

The soundtrack list posted a few pages back reveals that Agron is not dead...yet.

I didn't feel a lick of pity for either Crixus nor Naevia's fate. I'm actually rooting for Naevia to get further abuse - bad i know, but i've really grown to hate her character. I think it has more to do with the way the actress plays her, than the character itself because if the original actress was still playing her, i would feel her pain more.

And yes that rape was the biggest WTF moment of the show!

I totally forgot Argon got cut, Crixus' death definitely overshadowed that.

This show needs to last at least another half-season just for the running joke of Tiberius giving an order and some grunt solider mouthing off under his breath and Ti looking at him with big, crazed eyes which makes the soldier immediatley clinch his cheeks with fear.

Amazing how the audience will literally love or hate a character based on writing direction....

Anyways, this ep was great. I'm liking the young Roman, he's def filling that void left from season one. Really really hope he sticks around till the end. For the big catharsis moment alone.

Secondly, how brilliant would it have been if Crixus and co pulled back just before Rome. That way they would have done some great damage to the republic as well as bought the real "treasure" some much needed time and Crassus would have been left to kick rocks.

I fear the worst is yet to come my friends. This won't end well. I'm sure Crassus will hear the truth from the lips of his own slave girl.

Crixus wasn't never the undefeated gaul. If only that rumor was squashed before someone got hurt.
Great speech though.

The biggest short fall of this ep is that 2 of Spartacus' generals went down and it wasn't Caesar nor Crassus to do it...but that twerp from behind..
...always from behind this kid.

I never hated Crixus. He and Spartacus had their disagreements, but I always felt both had fair points. Crixus was mostly just running with what Spartacus had originally taught him, without having it evolve into something more noble. Given the life Crixus lead and the gladiatorial philosophies that were hammered into him for years, it's easy to appreciate how he couldn't wrap his head around anything more complex than "See enemy! Kill!"

And the end of the day I think Spartacus and Crixus ultimately wanted the same end result, they just had varying ways of going about it.

Tiberius is kinda like the Ashur of the season.

Yeah, he definitely filled a void this ep...at the expense of Caesar.:woot:

QFT!

Oh, I can't believe there's only two more episodes left before my favorite show leaves the air for good. It's come such a long way from those early episodes of the first season.

RIP Crixus, the only man on this show who actually stayed in shape.

RIP Crixus, Agron (?) and Naevia (?).

And that "major" background supporting gladiator who got some major dental work thanks to Caesar's sword.

That was a pretty HUGE episode! I do wish that this season was a little longer so we could have had at least one episode solely focused on Crixus and his campaign against Rome. The montage of fight scenes against the bloody map was all well and good, but I really would have liked to have seen more of Crixus as the leader of his army and how Agron worked as his third in command given their past rivalry.

The Spartacus and Laeta and Gannicus and Sibyl developments were dull. Telepgraphed from the moment the characters of Laeta and Sibyl first appeared on screen and completely boredom inducing. Wasn't it enough that Crixus and Agron were motivated to fight for the love of their partners. Do both Spartacus and Gannicus really have to be similarly motivated?

The "couple" scenes between Agron and Nasir and between Crixus and Naevia were both very well done. All four characters shone in those moments and it was great that everyone got a "good-bye" (of sorts).

And Tiberius. He's come a long way since he first faced-off against Spartacus and the pirates. Tiberius was responsible for bringing down Caesar (at least temporarily), Crixus (permanently) and Agron (permanently?). And each time it was a surprise attack from the rear - not the most respectable of fighting styles, but I guess it got the job done. I did want Crixus and Agron to fall to someone more skilled with a sword, like Caesar and Crassus, but I guess it helps to develop Tiberius as a real "threat" since he still looks like a 12 year old playing at war.

I can't believe that there are only two episodes to go! Damn, this series will be sorely missed when it is all over.

why didnt they kill crixus's ***** too? that ***** is sooo annoying..

according to the prview for next weeks episode, caeser will get revenge for what tiberius did...hehe

Caesar getting raped....:wow:

Crixus' death was handled well I think (liked how they had the reflection of the deed in Naevia's eye), and those who survived will wish they'd fallen with him.

But Tiberius...What a little ###t. Ah well, they have to have one of the major Roman antagonists get a big violent comeuppance before the inevitable finale, it can't be Caesar or Crassus (not without ignoring history) so it figures this fictional son Tiberius (the real Crassus had 2 sons and neither held that name) will get a suitably gruesome death before Spartacus is eventually defeated.

Caesar should castrate the little jerk first though. Couldn't help but laugh a little when Crassus asked Julius why he wasn't riding a horse (ouch).

The look on Tiberius' face as he waited for Caesar to answer was priceless!:woot:
