SPARTACUS: War of the Damned! Final Season!

poor Ganicus....... what is his fate...... torture?

Since his feet weren't supported he died pretty quickly.

Also i noticed when Agron was crucified they drove the nails through his hands, yet when Gannicus and Kore where crucified the nails went through the wrists.

damn good sendoff...time to cancel starzs now

This was a very well done episode. I loved the final battle. I am very sad to see the show go.

You may be picking Starz up again next year, if you like pirates. They have a new series called Black Sails in the works, and it looks great so far. You can watch the trailer here.

Looks pretty good. I hear its a prequel to Treasure Island. If so then that is intriguing. It also seems to use real sets and locations as opposed to 90% green screen.

I just finished watching this on DVD. Wow, it was a very good wrap up. I liked it better than Vengeance. War of the Damned just felt more cohesive and I was more accepting of the new Spartacus and Naevia.

With Naevia I actually wound up liking the new actress more. I thought she was pretty bad ass throughout this season. I didn't care for her death though. I thought her death was a little weak. It should've been more spectacular. I also thought that Gannicus's take down should've been better as well.

Overall though, I thought Crassus was a very good villain, more capable than Glaber. And Crassus wasn't all bad, he wasn't a caricature. Tiberius turned into quite the loathsome figure. Kore was very tragic and well played.

The guy playing Caesar reminded me of a love child between Brad Pitt and Chris Hemsworth. It took me a moment to buy him as Caesar, but ultimately I thought this take worked for this show.

The cast was good for the most part, the battles were epic, there's very little bad I have to say about it. I still like Andy Whitfield more, but Liam McIntyre gives great speeches and I liked a lot of his dialogue particularly in the series finale.

One of my quibbles was that I felt that it was becoming too much of the Gannicus show, that he was damn near untouchable, but that was tempered by the end. I was wondering for a moment though if Gannicus wasn't going to survive.

I think the final season was outstanding. The show got a bit lost in Vengeance. I didn't know where it was headed. War Of The Damned was perfect, it was heading towards a clear final destination. Honestly I found the Romans much more interesting than the rebels.

But a superb season. Very compelling.

Ashur posts a new picture of the great departed star of the series.

...How do they fit more blood and more sex? That's like...the whole show already.

It'll just be the extended the blu ray episodes I think.

This is nothing but Starz milking the series once again. It is their greatest success to date.

I will be shocked if they have material even beyond the extended Blu Ray episodes.

So...I'm a little late to the party, I bought the blu ray of War of the Damned and just finished it. Just wanna share quick thoughts.

What can I say? This show was absolutely amazing. It started off as a guilty pleasure show; it attracted you with all of the sex and violence but underneath all of it was an excellently written and immaculately acted show. This show had such amazing, loveable, memorable characters that will forever be remembered in tv history.

And not for nothing but the action and violence of this show is just unrivaled. I cannot imagine another tv show matching the amazing, epic fight scenes that occurred in this series. I just can't.

I remember when they announced War of the Damned would be the final season I was incredibly upset because I thought to myself, "Surely this could last at least another 2 seasons!!" But after watching the finale I realize that this show ended at the perfect time, when it was on top and in its prime. Bravo and kudos to the Steven De Knight and the producers and writers of this show to not succumb to temptation and drag this show on any longer than necessary **coughcoughDextercoughcough**.

With excellent storytelling, beautiful cinematography, compelling and memorable characters and all the sex and violence you could ask for, this is truly one of the greatest television shows ever.

Now bring on a Caesar spinoff PLEASE!!!

Blurring or, like, CGI loincloths are the only way this can work.

When Spartacus first aired on tv here there were no nudity whatsoever but as far as I can tell all the scenes were still intact.

S&tC did just fine cutting out nudity and sex scenes, Spartacus will be fine as well.

I'm still bummed we never got a Caesar spin off.

I can imagine people having sex while wearing obviously CG'd loincloths. It would be hilarious.

Spartacus and his fellow gladiators are so masculine that they can impregnate and bring a woman to orgasm just by dry humping them.
