Sorry if this isnt the right place for this, I didnt see a better spot for it.

I'm wondering how to start getting into the Special Effects career field. Mainly the explosives side of the movies. If anyone knows about this field or is in it (or was) any advise would be great. If I get any responses Ill go into more depth on any questions I have and what my qualifications are as of right now.

Go to college. Computer science degree in media art and animation or something similar. You'll be VERY good with all sorts of programs, like 3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, Combustion, After Effects. It's not a field that you can just "hop" into.

No, and yes. I work in the Bomb Squad and already know everything about making explosions, and do love it.

Thanks for the pointless reply, try reading the posts.
