I've seen a few things that I think were worth pointing out from the trailer or from Daredevil season 2.

One thing from the Punisher trailer is with Micro. Look at the bit in the trailer where Micro is being held at gun point- he's not the only one in a stand off on that pier. There's a woman in the foreground, and Micro's in the distance. I have a feeling that this is how Micro faked his death. He had Sarah or another person witness it.

Also, in the trailer, Frank says that "they killed my family to get to me." Seems odd at first, until you remember Colonel Schoonover's last words. In Daredevil season 2, everyone seems to think the Central Park massacre was just a police sting gone wrong. It's implied that the gangs got riled or they knew it was a sting, and so they just started shooting, and Frank's family got killed. But then, when Frank catches up to Colonel Schoonover, following Schoonover's attempt to take Karen hostage, Schoonover reveals that he orchestrated the meeting of the gangs in the park that day. He's Frank's former CO and long-term friend/mentor. And what are some of his last words?

"You could have been part of it, like Gosnell. You could've been rich- and maybe you could've taken your family to the Bahamas instead of Central Park, huh? You think this... all of this... is about a bad drug deal? That's what you see. You're losing your touch, Frank. Your kids, at the park? Nah. Who cares? That's never what this has been about. It's about what happened with you. With all of us. Kandahar."

That moment listening to Schoonover in the woods is when Frank realizes it wasn't bad luck, but the stuff he did in his military service, that got his family killed. All of Daredevil season 2 is just Frank reacting to his family's deaths. It's when he finds out that Colonel Schoonover set up the sting that he realizes his family's death wasn't a drug bust gone wrong. Schoonover, Rawlins, Billy Russo. Everyone that was there with them in Kandahar. We see the words 'whistle blower' show up with Frank's name in those redacted document promos. Meaning, Frank spilled the beans on various war crimes the others in his unit engaged in (from torture to drug smuggling and maybe other things like arms deals with terrorists). And the higher ups in the military, the government, the ones who were in on it, decided to take out Frank. It's a telling thing that Frank was shot execution-style in the head whereas his family died in a hail of bullets. Come to think of it, I think Billy Russo himself was the one who shot Frank (but Frank wouldn't remember because Billy was wearing a balaclava to mask his identity).

I think that operatives working for Rawlins were in that van that showed up while Karen was searching Frank's house, probably people who were hoping that Frank would return. In fact, since we know the DHS and FBI and CIA were all involved in this conspiracy, it stands to reason that it was the DHS and FBI people who called for the DNR on Frank.

Really good analysis I know some people aren't feeling the idea of them tying the government in with the deaths of Frank's family instead of having it the way it was in the comics. But your explanation helps it make more sense, they killed his family and tried to kill him because maybe he snitched on them which is possible...Lol would that make Frank a rat?

Well, the government conspiracy is kind of passé as a plot point and kind of takes the survivor's guilt angle out the window. But like I said in another thread, it's all up to how Frank percieves the events. The death of his family still is a catalyst regardless. Not trying to be too nitpicky, since everything I see about the production I like. Have to revisit DD season 2 to dig in on Frank's Netflix lore.

Just went through DD season 2 again. There were surprisingly lot of character information about Frank that now seems more relevant when he is getting his own season.

Schoonover's testimony, Frank and Karen at the diner, Karen speaking with the editor before heading off to meet Schoonover and the subsequent meeting with the Colonel. All of those offer insight to what kind of a man Frank Castle is or he is seems like, other than a man shooting guns, by people who have been in some contact with him. Quite a lot of information hidden in small scenes about him being observant, intelligent and capable. Hope they really get to give him a more wholesome arc.
