SPIDER-MAN: REIGN #1 (OF 4)
Written by KAARE ANDREWS
Art & Cover by KAARE ANDREWS 50/50 Cover Split
A searing vision of Spider-Man’s future, brought to you by superstar Kaare Andrews (INCREDIBLE HULK).
They finally did it. Kicked them to the curb. The “capes and tights” crowd -- there’s no place for them in the Big Apple anymore. Peter Parker? He can’t even remember what it was like to don the red and blue and swing through the night sky. Doesn’t want to, anyway. After all, there’s nothing left to fight for, is there? That is until an old “friend” appears on Peter’s doorstep, bearing a package and a message -- and everything changes. If it’s not Peter’s responsibility, then whose is it?
48 PGS./Rated T+ ...$3.99

32 PGS./All Ages ...$2.99

That Ultimate Spider-Man cover is freakin' SWEET!

And does anybody else notice that in Friendly Neighborhood and Sensational that Peter is wearing his red and blue duds and not the Iron Spidey suit? :cwink:

Sensational and FNSM have shown him in the Iron Spidey suit ever since he's had it. Just a possibility.

So still no ASM? I thought it was only pushed back to November

ASM # 535 comes out September 27.

ASM # 536 comes out in November.

ASM # 537 and # 538 come out in January.

Due to the delay to Civil War, unfortunately.

Who do you think this "friend" is bearing a package? You know its funny...wouldn't it be awesome if the "package" is at long last BABY MAY? The baby was always referred to as "the mysterious package?" Maybe the "friend" is Kaine?

Both Aunt May and Pete look like zombies in this pic.

I think I noticed that he's got 'em on in the November solicits, as well. Pretty sweet IMO.

Confirmation on what? This looks like an alternate future tale.

I was about to say as well, the SSM cover looks like something for Marvel Zombies. Getting beaten is one thing but Peter doesn't even look whole or human on that cover.

That's just Crain's style. He draws things spooky.

I love Crain on Spidey, but even I have to admit, that image is a bit gothicaly zombiesque and scary.

But hey, I think I really like it like that, Peter on deaths door.

Also, these solicits are just showing more and more of what I knew was going to happen anyway...

They're using the unmasking to show Pete's family, and everyone in the world how important Pete's secret ID is...

Think about it, Marvel are CLEARLY very much leaning on the side of the non-registered heroes. Joey Q has gone on record saying that the Marvel everyman needs to go through all the major stuff of unmasking. Why? You may think... Well, this way everyone will learn how important the secret ID is, and not just for Pete, but for all the other heroes who need one.

They're making the point not only to Peter, but to MJ, May, all the other heroes in the MU, as well as me and you. Pete's being made an example of. Hell, even Bendis said it while he was using Stark as a vehicle at the end of Illuminati.

From the start JMS lamely let slip that they have a back door, and it's obviously involving the black costume in some way. This issue of SSM will be May facing the reality of encouraging Peter to come out, having to deal with the fall out, and realising Peter was much better off as a loner, the way he was originally.

Well, I'm hoping this is true lol!
